Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt in der YHA Cotswolds (The Barrel Store) und können die Unterkunft nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen! Sie liegt perfekt gelegen in der Altstadt von Cirencester – Supermarkt, Geschäfte und Cafés liegen nur wenige Meter zu Fuß entfernt. Das Zimmer und die Gemeinschaftsküche waren sehr sauber, die Mitarbeiter sehr nett und standen für Fragen immer zur Verfügung. Die Gemeinschaftsküche ist perfekt ausgestattet und bietet ausreichend Platz, um sich selbst zu versorgen. Cirencester ist eine wunderbare Kleinstadt und ein perfekter Ausgangspunkt für Unternehmungen in die Cotswolds – dank zahlreicher Busverbindungen in die Dörfer und Städte der Umgebung lässt sich die Gegend auch ohne Auto wunderbar erkunden. Wir waren mit der YHA Cotswolds (The Barrel Store) rundum zufrieden und würden jederzeit wiederkommen! We had a great stay at the YHA Cotswolds (The Barrel Store) and would highly recommend the accommodation! It is perfectly located in Cirencester's old town - supermarket, shops and cafes are just a few yards walk away. The room and the shared kitchen were very clean, the employees were very nice and always available for questions. The communal kitchen is perfectly equipped and offers enough space to cater for yourself. Cirencester is a wonderful small town and a perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds - thanks to numerous bus services to nearby villages and towns, the area is wonderful to explore without a car. We were completely satisfied with the YHA Cotswolds (The Barrel Store) and would not hesitate to come back!

Twelve of my friends needed a place to stay for the Tuskers weekend (an African Ball), and we chose the Barrel Store. It was absolutely perfect for our stay- we used 3 rooms, and made good use out of the kitchen. The location is grand, being in the centre of town (and a 2 minute walk from the pubs) and easily accessible. The rooms & bathrooms were clean, and the kitchen is well equipped. The receptionist was super friendly! It’s a lovely place to stay in to see Cirencester. We will definitely be staying here again! See you next year Barrel Store!

This youth hostel is well located for exploring the Cotswolds and the historic Cirencester. It is very well maintained with comfortable rooms and good self catering facilities. The location in the centre of Cirencester is great for exploring town.

Positives were: great, central location. Friendly staff Negatives: Four bed room with en suite was too hot, with only a tiny window that couldn't be opened fully. Tiny space for four people. Not enough communal space, which was a shame esp with kids.

Located slap bang in the heart of Cirencester, this youth hostel is ideal for exploring. Parking is easy and located in the Brewery car park, out front. Functional and clean rooms, with helpful staff. Be aware not every room gets an onsuit shower. So be prepared to have a short walk to a communal shower room

Lovely clean bedroom and bathroom. The bed was comfy and towel and sheets were provided. Excellent location to the centre of Cirencester. Friendly and helpful staff when checking in. I would definitely recommend staying here whilst staying in Cirencester.

Night staff casually slagged off Chinese folks down the phone to me completely unprompted as I organised late entry - also bunk rooms are absolutely tiny. Pigeons are nice neighbours tho, managed to hear them all morning without any xenophobic remarks.

Staff were very friendly and helpful and check-in and check-out was seamless.Suited our family of 7 with teens with 2 units with en-suite for one night stay. Parking at the Beeches Carpark and had the best ever smash burgers at SWE (Somewhere Else), very reasonably priced!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at The Barrel Store! From the moment we arrived, the team was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which set the tone for a great experience. Our visit was for a work event, and the unique opportunity to stay in a Passivhaus was a key reason for our choice. It did not disappoint! The accommodation was modern, comfortable, and environmentally conscious—exactly what we were hoping for. One of our team members cooked dinner for all 17 of us, and we were thoroughly impressed with the kitchen facilities. It was well-equipped and spacious enough to handle catering for a large group, which was a huge plus. I highly recommend The Barrel Store for both group stays and eco-conscious travelers. It’s a perfect blend of sustainability and comfort, right in the heart of Cirencester. We’re already looking forward to returning!
