Premier Inn Christchurch (East)

No air-conditioned, No housekeeping

Stayed here for three nights. We enjoyed our stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good quality room. A little tired in places but bearing in mind how much we paid it was superb value for money. We had the breakfast which was pretty good. We will definitely visit again.

Had the best stay on the weekend with my family, staff were very helpful and friendly and I will definitely be returning in the summer with my family, we love premier inn. The beds are so comfy and this one in particular was amazing. Would definitely recommend.

Positives: Lovely staff, tasty breakfast. Good parking. Comfortable bed. Amazing shower head and shower. Negatives: Electric heater only in room (controlled with thermostat) - I expected central heating. Stains on shower curtain. Very slow Wi-Fi - almost forced to upgrade to a paid Wi-Fi to have usable internet. From a Premier Inn, it did have a good baseline of cleanliness (except for some (admittedly minor) stains on the shower curtain).

We arrived at the hotel, i had asked for an accessible room, we were in the furthest part of the hotel. As we opened the room door the damp and musty smell hit us. I went and reported it to told the young girl on reception she apologised. The following morning i reported it to the receptionist again, we went off to a wedding. The had said they would check it and sort it for us. When we returned that night it was just as bad. The restaurant was badly set up for people to sit together. We tried to take breakfast to our room but there wasn't any boxes etc available to carry it back in. even though they say you can. There are lots of doors , stairs and corridors to try and carry it along on a tray with out it getting cold, or spilling drinks.

Came for one night with the wife for a little break away, I have to say the Standard of this particular Premier Inn has really gone downhill. The surrounding grounds are really in a unkept state with long uncut grass , hedges looking a mess with all the leaves left, the adjacent Beefeater did a nice self service breakfast with plenty of variety, the tables were very sticky and the gents toilet wasn't good, outside there was slate over the path , cigarette ends and weeds, back to our stay , the whole place has become tired , definitely not the standard I remember, desperately needs renovation, lack of staff, our room was ridiculously hot even with the two fans in our room one didn't seem to blow forwards, the bathroom floor was all rippled and damaged and rust spots on the bathroom ceiling, thick dust on top of the wardrobe, I will not be staying here again after many visits which is a real shame because the location is perfect for us.
