Mecklenburgh Inn

For the past 20 years I have been staying , on numerous occasions both happy and sad, in this establishment right on the shores of a Canadian east coast , fisherman's village named CHESTER . Feeling is like stepping into a Maritimes fairy tale where time has stopped , where great hospitality is given with honour and respect , where jam tastes like REAL jam, where sausages are still home made, where colourful quilts are used for bedding , where clawfoot iron tub awaits for your soaking after a long day walking in the village watching seals and puffins , where even cold wind whispers a happy tunes ...Here , each one of the rooms has beds layered with pillows and throws , PERFECT mattresses , spacious rooms equipped for work, lounging ...reading or simply enjoying seas views from your room . It was peaceful heavenly escape I needed so bad. Huge thank you to my hostess Suzi , the owner, who never stops amazing me with her wit and her culinary skills . And do not try finding anything wrong here as the place , despite all these visual charcuteries is SPOTLESS not a hit of dust anywhere . I do not know how Suzi pulls all this off but she definitely does it with love and it shows

Suzi and her Inn were beyond perfect. Will be booking regularly. It's like having a vacation inside of a postcard of Nova Scotia. I will live longer because of my stay here. Looking forward to visit again this summer, sit on the front veranda and read a book with a cold drink, a deep smile, and appreciate all the good vibrations. I had so many IPAs at the pub down the road. I had the exact correct amount, every time. Beautiful.

We stayed at the Mecklenburgh Inn this past weekend. Our room was so comfortable, spacious, huge bathroom, cozy bed and possibility the cleanest guest room I have ever been in. We were travelling with other family members and enjoyed the outdoor upper deck. If I could give breakfast 1000 stars I would. It was so creative and full of flavor, Suzi you are an amazing chef. The access to early morning coffee was just an added bonus to a fantastic stay. I would highly recommend a stay, a close drive from Halifax and a beautiful place to spend a few days. We headed to Chester for the night to go to The Chester Playhouse to see a live show and The Mecklenburgh Inn was the perfect spot! Located right downtown in the thick of things it was super convenient and we were were easily able to walk all around. Just steps from the oldest pub in Nova Scotia, The Fo'c'sle Pub, as well. The Inn was charming and quaint and Suzie was a super host. The room was very nice and the bed was super comfortable. The breakfast Suzie made for the guests the next morning was delightful and delicious and we made a few friends too. We loved our time at The Mecklenburgh Inn and would highly recommend it to anyone else!

My boyfriend and I had a lovely stay here. Suzi was sooo welcoming and made you feel as if you were at home. The room's were beautifully arranged, cozy, bright and clean. The bed was very comfortable. You could clearly tell that every detail was accounted for in order to provide a relaxed stay. We were lucky to meet the sweetest kitty, Panda, while we visited. She was the cutest. The inn is right downtown, which allowed easy access to local pubs and breweries within walking distance. Breakfast was delicious! It was a privilege to stay here and we will definitely be back.

A amazing stay at this gorgeous b&b. Breakfast was delicious. Rooms absolutely relaxing and no detail ledt unnoticed. Suzi the host is soo welcoming and really makes you feel like family. If your coming to chester I highly recommend spending a night or three at this amazing B&B .
