Great location for Mylapore. Hotel is the center of a calm, friendly compound (several buildings up a driveway), a nice haven from ordinarily busy noisy India. Room large and comfortable. Good all-around vibe. Lots of food shops within a couple blocks walk (for my fruit, peanuts, etc) . Only vegetarian restaurants within compound, but I got nice clean chicken meal next door. Great value.

In my life I have never seen this type of hotel, Chennai is my home town also, I booked this hotel room to meet my business clients discussions, when I was checked in alone, during checking in I informed the receptionist later I will have guests to meet me,
They said the guests were not allowed to go inside the room , only we had to sit down in the lobby only,
I came here to close my business deals, how can I open my laptop top in the open place and sign the contract documents, more over we have to do cash transaction also,
This type of management system made me fed up ,
I am Very disappointed about this hotel.

I stayed here for 03 nights and was allocated 1124. The room was nice, cool and tranquil. Housekeeping was good. All Front Desk staff are humble and professional. Good spread during breakfast. Soft and hot idlis were delicious. Chutneys were also tasty. Medu Vada was authentic in taste and big in size. I liked it. Though I didn’t like uttappam. I ***** with my colleagues had dinner here. Although the restaurant at The Woodlands is known for authentic South Indian dishes but North Indian cuisine are also awesome. Taste was nowhere compromised. We had North Indian dishes during dinner. The most liking thing of this property is its nostalgic feeling. Good space, good ambiance, and supportive staff. I always prefer to stay here only whenever I drop in at Chennai.

The stay was very comfortable. Level of cleanliness of the room and bathroom - excellent.
Food, location, staff courteousness - was all good.

Location is in the heart of the city Chennai and well connected by economical modes of transport.
Food was traditional and tasty.
Amenities were having a touch of olden days and nostalgic.

we didn't stay. requested for cancellation due to unavoidable circumstances ( death in the family). but hotel was stubborn to so. I requested for date change if not cancellation accepted. still refused. money minded people. great loss for me
I feel in future I should do the booking directly with the hotel people. will be better

as soon as entered the room noticed lots of hair on two pillows on mattress, we took video for proof by us and shown the footage in the reception.

Neat and clean rooms. 2 adjacent restaurants serve excellent South Indian and North Indian food which is a bonus when one stays in the hotel.
