Great location for Mylapore. Hotel is the center of a calm, friendly compound (several buildings up a driveway), a nice haven from ordinarily busy noisy India. Room large and comfortable. Good all-around vibe. Lots of food shops within a couple blocks walk (for my fruit, peanuts, etc) . Only vegetarian restaurants within compound, but I got nice clean chicken meal next door. Great value.

In my life I have never seen this type of hotel, Chennai is my home town also, I booked this hotel room to meet my business clients discussions, when I was checked in alone, during checking in I informed the receptionist later I will have guests to meet me,
They said the guests were not allowed to go inside the room , only we had to sit down in the lobby only,
I came here to close my business deals, how can I open my laptop top in the open place and sign the contract documents, more over we have to do cash transaction also,
This type of management system made me fed up ,
I am Very disappointed about this hotel.

New Woodlands is a nice budget hotel in a great location. Rooms are large and well equipped. Very clean. Wonderful staff, courteous and friendly. Breakfast was good and sufficient to get you going for the day. There are many restaurants (all vegetarian) serving various cuisines.

The stay was most comfortable. The rooms are big and very cost effective. The service is wonderful and the food excellent. The place is centrally located which makes commute to various parts easy.

It was a terrible experience right from checkin to check out. I was travel-ling with my family and booked 2 rooms on the 1st floor, in one room geyser was missing, then they shifted me to the 3rd floor. In that room the toilet seat was broken, the electric kettle was not working even the dustbin was not cleared. Water bottle served was 250 ml, tea dips were not available. Door locks were very difficult to operate. As a whole it was a terrible experience staying in this hotel, i request makemytrip to duelist such a kind of property.

New wood land hotel one of the oldest properties in chennai is now a poorly maintained one. Rooms and toilets are not clean and shabby. Entire interiors and floors are very old and not maintained. One can see street cats roaming in passages and common area. The staff including front line team are very rough and not receptive. It’s time for the management to address these serious issues urgently.

We checked in around 9pm on 13th. The room was kept ready and the reception was quite good. We checked out on 15th and on our request they extended the time till 1pm. There were 3 different restaurants where we had our breakfast and dinner and in all the places food was good and the service was also equally good. Our stay was comfortable.
