Chelmsford (Springfield)

I work away from home for weeks at a time so every now and again we use premier inn. This particular premier inn at Chelmsford services was very welcoming very clean and hot breakfast 🍳. Myself and two work mate's were staying in the truck's. We went back to your hotel for a couple of drinks and an evening meal your staff on the night wete amazing your CHEF LAUREN did an absolutely wonderful mixed grill cooked perfect. DEBORAH was a lovely lady and very easy to talk to really helpful there was a young lady called BROOKE what a STAR ⭐ these three ladies are a credit to your company all three of us will be parking there whenever we can.

Shabby and smelly room on the ground floor. I could not open my room's curtains as there was a bin and workmen working right outside my window. In addition you have to pay £8 a day for parking (there is another Premier Inn just 10 minutes away that has free parking).

The hotel staff were welcoming and helpful. Construction work was taking place during our stay but didnt affect us and we were given plenty of notice.

Room backed onto A12, which is constantly busy plus railway line and station with announcements until very late then from early in the morning. No air conditioning so room very warm but opening the window allowed noise in, and sleep very difficult. Rooms are tired, clean but grotty. Parking on site but cost £8 per day.

What a horrendous experience. I have stayed at multiple Premier Inns over the years and generally had a good experience. The one guarantee is a good night sleep. Not any more. The room I was allocated was 20 metres from a busy dual carriageway. I thought the window had been left open given the noise levels but they were just paper thin. To compound the issue freight trains passed by regularly from a nearby trainline. I did contact customer service but, as expected, got little joy. The team on site were lovely.

The Bathroom was not clean it was dirty and the bath had no plug with hair still in the bath. The Hotel seemed run down in general across all areas.

We stayed three nights here. We arrived after a long journey and it was dark and raining. I would not say the light in the car park was that good. We asked the receptionist about parking as we had a blue badge and it was displayed. They told us that was fine. We thought no more of it. Our trip was to see a sick relative so our time was spent with them of a day arriving back late evening. Today I received three parking notices each for £60. I rang the reception to be met with a rude receptionist who spoke over me. The Premier Inn cannot help as parking is managed by a private firm. It was my first experience of Premier Inns and it will be my last. I am not happy that if I do not win my parking appeal it will cost £180 but I am more even more annoyed at the manner in which the receptionist spoke to me, in my opinion she all but called me a liar as she said all receptionists know their parking policy. So if you are staying at a Premier Inn check the parking.

Staff were fantastic and stay was very enjoyable . Food was great. Every staff member made the trip worthwhile. Will visit here again next time I am in the area. Will highly recommend

A comfortable night with a good 'meal deal'. All staff encountered were very friendly & helpful.
