Riad Hicham

The food and service was good. The decor and vibe good. We had bean and moroccan soup that was good. Also beef tangine and chicken skewers that was tasty. This was our stop for lunch on our tour-that was fabulous. Rian our guide was very friendly and informative. Chefchaouen Adventures is the name of tour company.

Lovely new riad. Great experience. Great breakfast. Overlooking hillside. Had two rooms for family w two twin beds.beautiful city. Comfortable mattresses. Great service. Beautiful courtyard to enjoy your day. Lovely place to stay w fmaily

We had dinner at this riad while in the Blue City. It was disappointing. The view from the rooftop was great - just off the main square with a view of the old Kasbah, but that is where it ended. The food was ok, nothing great. A lot of bones in the tangine (more than most places). While not the riad's doing, the young couple beside us proceeded to watch videos on their phones the whole meal with the volume turned right up for the entire restaurant to enjoy. Even after we asked them to turn them down, they continued to do it. Then after the table on the other side of us left, they didn't clear it for quite some time. It became dinner for a stray cat who actually climbed on top of the table and ate off the plates. Made us wonder what had eaten off our table and plates previously. We would not return to this restaurant.

Riad Hicham is pretty easy to find, directly situated along the cities main square. You enter the Riad via the entrance of the Restaurant Hicham, which makes that both employees, restaurant guests and riad guests are entering along a narrow staircase. The surroundings inside Hicham are a little like a maze, but not in an annoying way. We had a junior suite. Considering the fact that we had a suite, the room was pretty small. All the facilities were there (couch, tv, bed, bathroom, airco) but it was all packed into a very narrow space. No outside view and being within the environment of restaurant and riad, a little noisy at times, although we slept very well both nights. The riad personell were very sweet and accomodating. The restaurant personell however, were hasty and felt uninterested. In 2 of 3 instances, sloppy even. 1 time waiting a very long time for the bill and a second time, an 8am breakfast start only starting around 8:10 with a yawning waiter taking our order and bringing the wrong order the first time. Overall, location was great, spaciousness felt small and the combo of riad and restaurant in the same environment gave the experience a lack of the feeling of rest and serenity when coming back to your riad.

This Riad was a highlight, a labyrinth of hallways and terraces reminded me of the crazy streets of the Medina. The staff were amazing and the food was great. The view of the Center square at night was the best you can get. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The wifi didn’t work in my room and the doors on the cupboard were broken but the shower temperature and pressure was good, breakfast was tasty and filling and the rooms had good aircon.

The hotel is very nice, located right in the Main square and inside the medina. There are quite a few stairs to go in and out. There is a restaurant as well. The breakfast is very good. The room that I stayed in was beautiful. Very nice decoration. Very good location as well. Dinner at the hotel is great because you can see the city lights from the roof top.
