The Park Motel

Was disappointed with check in. Plus renovations were not disclosed prior to booking! Edi was rude when she spoke to me, as if it was an effort to assist me. After being on the road travelling all day and then being treated poorly when checking in, it is first impressions that count and stay with you. Then a car being parked in my car space! Another person had parked in my allocated car parking space why? The curtains were very worn-out, there were holes in them and the shower had low water pressure... Plus there were fire pyrotechnics being set off in the early morning to frighten the flying foxes away. 6am

Budget motel, staff are so friendly and having daily house keeping is so nice. The beds are comfy, Shower is really nice and it was great to have cold bottled water in the fridge. We couldn’t believe how quiet it was and convenient to restaurants and the shopping area. Plenty of parking. It’s nice having the doors on both sides to can over look the beautiful park across the road as well. It’s just small country motel nothing fancy but it’s comfy.

The owners are super friendly and absolutely helpful. We got stuck in the floods and they advised us to hang in there for a day for the floodwaters to subside. And not once did they say to stay at their hotel, even though there were many in Charters Towers, Qld. The epitome of selflessness and great hearts! Highly recommended.

It is not the newest motel about, bit scarred round the edges, but it is comfortable and close to everything you want to see and do in the town and surrounding areas. It is quiet and the staff are all friendly and helpful.
