Element Charlotte Uptown

My wife and I visited the hotel for a four day stay along with five other couples for a working vacation. It was arranged under group sales through Nora, who made sure that all of our needs were taken care of, both for our meeting space and our personal accommodations. The rooms were spotless and everyone that we met were very personable and friendly. The well appointed workout facility was always spotless and had plenty of clean towels and cold filtered water. In the evenings, at least on the week days, there was complementary beer, wine and appetizers provided. The meats and cheeses were excellent, but the highlight was Harold, the bartender. He was the kind of guy you would sooner meet on the stool next to you at your local bar than at a hotel 1000 miles from home, because in the former circumstances, you just made a new good friend. In the morning both hot and cold complementary breakfast items were offered and they were all quite good. The location was also excellent as a number of very good restaurant options were in short walking distance (ten minutes or less) away. We would return to this hotel if we are ever back in the area without hesitation.

One of the newest properties in the Marriot Bonvoy collection in Charlotte, this one has quite a bit to like and a few things that let it down. I want to give it 3.5 stars but rounded up as its better than other mid-tier Marriot properties in town. Positives - Good location near the convention center and within a 10 minute walk of most things downtown - Next to a really massive Wholefoods. The room has a microwave and mini-kitchen with fridge so if you want to eat in, you can do so in comfort. - OK gym, a bit light on machines but lots of treadmills - Free breakfast, which is on the good end of free hotel breakfasts - Good staff, especially the front desk and bar. - It's relatively new! No weird musty smells like the aLoft, no wifi dead spots like the Sharaton, no funky entrances like the Courtyard. Negatives - IF you are a tea drinker, this place does two things wrong. First, they put out hot water in the same urns they put coffee out in. So your tea has that awful coffee mixed with tea flavor that will be familiar to United frequent-fliers. Second, they ran out of black tea. Like no English Breakfast, or Irish, or Assam, or Cylon. They did scrape up an earl gray tea bag. - Random lights in the room. The microwave clock shines like a lighthouse across the room. And there is a smoke detector/sensor in the ceiling that flashes like a stroke light. If you prefer dark rooms, bring something to put over your eyes - The rooms on the street side are kind of loud with traffic, which starts early.

I was in North Carolina volunteering for disaster services and DAYSHAUN PROVIDED US WITH EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER CARE. EVEN WITH 20 OF US OUTSIDE EACH MORNING! He was respectful, prompt, courteous and willing to do whatever it took to make our time easier and pleasant. HE IS A TRUE EXAMPLE OF GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS APPRECIATED MORE THAN WORDS CAN SAY. From all of us to you DayShaun- HEARTFELT THANKS! Bless you and your family. Isaiah the valet was great!! He was very helpful and courteous. Please promote him. Also, he was very informative and gave us great tips about the city of Charlotte and places to go. So far we have enjoyed this part of the being at the hotel. Thnaks

This was our first time staying there! My husband and I were really impressed. The room was beautiful and we had a nice view! The only problem we came across was parking. Space is very limited. Valet parking is much cheaper than parking on your own. It was a little hectic but Isaiah was a great help to us!

Went here and stayed one night. Booked and payed for it a week in advance. When I arrived I get charged another $150. No where on the website, booking confirmation or any live person I spoke with the 3 times I called with questions did it say I would need to pay another fee other than the $38 valet. We decided to pay for valet before checking out. When we did it said $38 and that’s how much the confirmation said. In reality they charged my card $49 instead and it took 30 minutes just to get my car! I recommend staying anywhere else if visiting Charlotte!
