From the moment we walked in, we were impressed with the staff. We were greeted by the front desk staff who were extremely helpful and made the check in process seamless. I had difficulty with my key at the elevator twice, and one of the staff showed me what I was doing wrong but handled it in a way that did not make me feel that I was totally incompetent. LOL. He was incredibly gracious. Both he and another young lady at the desk were always checking on us when we arrived or left. They were so personable and fun. I cannot say enough great things about them. They sent up an extra blanket within minutes of asking! The room was a little tight and it does need a little TLC. However, it was extremely clean and the furniture was in great shape. I thought the bed was very comfortable, but my husband did not. But we fight that battle at home. I loved that the bathroom vanity was separate from the shower and toilet. It allowed two of us to get ready simultaneously. The shower head was fantastic with great water flow. The lighting at the vanity was not great, so ladies bring a mirror and sit on the sofa to apply makeup. The light is better there. There is also very little drawer space, so bring extra hangers to hang your clothes if needed. The location is fantastic. It is close to anywhere you need to go downtown Charlotte. We stayed at the Hilton the last time we were in town, and it cannot come close to competing with the Marriot Courtyard. And the Marriott is almost half the cost. I would highly recommend this hotel over the competition!

Hotelumgebung ist gut, neben der Einkaufsstraße, Essen bequemer, es gibt auch chinesisches Essen (also nicht authentisch)! Die Dekoration ist schon etwas alt, die Zimmergröße ist OK!

Having spent the weekend at the Kentucky Derby with friends, my return to the real world was made so much more pleasant by the delightful team here. Deanna is polished, professional, charming and cheerful. In my three day stay I lost my room card about 79 times - always replaced with a smile. She has that rare ability to flash a visible smile, but it is backed up by the genuine smile IN HER VOICE. She explained that yesterday on her day off, a few things happened that she found challenging; kudos to her for squarely attacking them, putting them in their place and then showing up to work with that skill and professionalism that makes weary travelers want to come back HERE when in Charlotte. Radon also was kind and efficient and gave a few well chosen words when I felt a little blue. Food in the concierge breakfast bar was excellent, again with cheerful caring staff. See you guys next time - and thanks!

I am literally still crying from my “special trip” that I had planned at this hotel. Flew in family (one of which is sick and dying and it maybe my last time seeing her). Rented fancy cars for everyone. Had planned a spa retreat for my daughters 18th bday and Mother’s Day for the women that have been there for us. I was a 15 year old mother, I was left homeless and hungry. I fought to be a mother, build a business, and my daughter and I had finally made it. I had remembered going to the hotel before for a dinner. I thought it would be a perfect spa day/special place. I am still crying as I type this. - I paid and booked in advance because the booking agent said they could accommodate us at the spa. I paid for the nicest room/cottage. Since we were just coming for a fun day/evening, I wanted it to be perfect. Which is why I went to a “Luxury” resort. I knew things had to be right and with a resort with this level achievements, it would absolutely be right… or so I thought. - First I had to call 3 times and several people after the spa reservation wasn’t made by the original person that booked at Marriott. - Upon trying to get the appointment at the spa, they had no availability and the woman was truly nasty. So I pay private people to come in last minute. - I arrive and the grounds are a MESS. Complete construction site, dead plants, trash, I was so confused.Nothing like what I had been promised or expected. It was a giant construction site. - The valet is the same person as the bellman. They have all these white men in suits standing around that are management while they make one little brown man do all the work. Let’s call this the “Legal Slavery” Marriott. -No one warned us or even bothered helping us to the cottage. This put us behind because we were lost for an hour in the construction. We missed out dinner reservations and had to eat my daughters bday dinner at some crappy place that could accommodate 9 people last minute. - We get to the “fancy” cottage/house. It disgusting. Red wine is all over the carpet. There are broken glasses in the bushes and on the patio (clearly had been there for a long time). There was an ant infestation and all of the food we ordered was covered in bugs. - Then I go to talk to the manager on duty on Sunday. Because I was crying in the middle of the lobby. He was dismissive and walked away and left me crying in the lobby on my daughters bday. The massages were cancelled and everything I had planned had been ruined, completely. - His boss comes in and makes excuses for him and comps the disgusting room that they shouldn’t be renting. However, makes NO attempt to take responsibility for any of the implications that their lies and laziness caused. Nothing was figured out, not only that but I had spent the entire time I was there trying to get things fixed, so I didn’t even see my family that I paid to fly in. I spent thousands to have one special day at their hotel and they sold me something that was a
