Hyatt Place Charleston Historic District

The “concierge “ desk in the lobby is not a hotel concierge. They are a membership travel agency offering free tour tickets (actually worth it) in exchange for you sitting through an hour presentation of their services. We did get two tours and a $50 check though but just fyi.

It was fine. The breakfast was great. The pool was good, as was the fitness room. The front desk staff were pleasant. The location is excellent.

I’m disappointed great Y tha5 it took over an hour to get valet to bring me my car one New Years Eve! I don’t blame the valet, I blame the hotel for not making sure there was more than the one guy working on such a busy night! If you care about your guests, you make sure to have 5he staff to see to our needs, this was not done that night!

This hotel was great for traveling with a family! The breakfast options were very good and had plenty for everyone’s tastes. The hotel itself is in a great walkable location. It also had nice rooms and friendly staff. The only cons were the cost of parking and the mattresses weren’t very good. Otherwise we’d definitely stay again!

Location was awesome! Right off king street where all the bars and restaurants are. We walked everywhere! The hotel was nice and clean and the staff was very friendly.

Great stay. Clean hotel. Downside was no free parking and have to do meter parking. Plus side is the parking is right beside the hotel. Breakfast was great, they changed it up everyday. Only complaint was the bed. It sagged a bit in the middle, and probably should have been replaced, but not super awful bed, but definitely showing signs of being a bit worn down.

I liked the location of hotel. I didn't like that our room was only cleaned one time out of the 4 days we were there. I didn't like that it seemed to take forever to replenish the breakfast bar (no eggs or biscuits for at least 20 minutes) And I didn't like that self parking of my car was billed at 35.00 a day instead of 18.00 that was advertised.

We were a family of four (two teenagers). The room size with the large couch area worked well for our family. The location is on the edge of King Street in the Cannonborough area of town, it is walkable to a lot of sites and for our family it worked out very well. The Darling was one of our favorite restaurants and that was a very easy one to get to from this hotel, but the French Quarter area and Queen St is about a 30 minute walk or so one way (just for reference). The walking wasn’t an issue for our kids or family- but if you have toddlers and a stroller you may rethink the walking. There are some lovely restaurants and coffee shops within close proximity to the hotel. We had very good experiences with hotel staff during our stay. We actually did need to change rooms, after our first evening we realized the air wasn’t working and they sent someone up promptly to fix it and he said it was going to be a complicated fix and quickly got us into a different room. The breakfast isn’t amazing- but there are options and everyone in our family could find something to fill them up and satisfy them first thing in the morning. The staff were very good about keeping things stocked through all that craziness. Overall I felt like the staff were very responsive and helped solve any questions we had quickly and promptly. The parking is literally next door. We parked on our own (did not use valet) and only took the car out one day when we knew we were driving to the beach. Great stay.

Hotel was awesome. Great breakfast and staff was great. Free bus stops across the street and walkable to all the shopping and visitors center. Parking was feet away from entrance and if you have a handicapped plate parking was free.
