La Maison Ottomane

Cocomat is a guarantee for excellent sleep. Perfect individual breakfast. Perfect for trips in old town of chania. The interior design is fitting 100 percent to the ottoman times. The pictures on the homepage of the hotel are showing the original situation you find with your stay.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights after our daughter was married in Naxos. This B&B was a perfect location from which to explore Chania by foot, and for one day excursions by car on the western half of the island. There also was private parking for the guests which is unheard of in the old section. The setting is intimate with three rooms, and the proprietor, Andreas has decorated the rooms beautifully with art and antiques. His assistant, Alex, is very attentive and kind. The breakfasts are superb, and include homemade jams and marmalades, and omelettes to your specifications. Andreas and Alex have wonderful recommendations for dining and excursions. They arranged a private old city walking tour for us with guide, Sylvia, which was excellent. They also arranged for us to participate in a full day Samaria Gorge excursion (6AM - 9PM), which I highly recommend for those who are fit and interested in moderately strenuous outdoor activity with stunning nature. It’s a 4000 foot descent over approximately 13 kilometers, the first 2000 of which occur during the initial 3 kilometers. I’m still experiencing a little quad and calf soreness as I write this review 48 hours later, but it’s the good kind of soreness accompanied by a sense of satisfaction in having completed the exhilarating trek and justifying my high caloric intake of the wonderful cuisine as we continue to eat and drink our way through Crete. Getting back to the B&B, Andreas is a renaissance man, kind, thoughtful, interesting, multilingual, the consummate innkeeper, and Alex is similarly talented. They made our stay wonderful, their recommendations were impeccable, and I highly recommend this B&B for hopefully a good 3 or 4 day stay in this important and beautiful city. Amazing property, beautiful atmospheric. So quiet and yet within 5/10 minutes walking fabulous restaurant’s and museums/landmarks but what makes this hotel outstanding are the hosts who are so welcoming. The most beautiful accommodation I think we have ever stayed in. La Maison Ottomane is a boutique hotel with rooms with different themes, ours was Moroccan influenced. Very comfortable & romantic. Then to top it off, the homemade breakfast which is made to order & served in the courtyard was delicious. The attention to detail & the service was impeccable. Reasonably priced too & in the heart of old town Chania. The free parking is a bonus, once you carefully navigated the narrow old town streets, however, only a quick walk to the Venetian port.

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. Alexandria and Andreas were superb hosts. Constantinople room was nice, roomy, and accessorized with splendid Ottoman pieces.Quiet and perfectly placed hotel for walking to harbor and old town. Breakfast and eating area, i cant say enough good things about. I will return someday, if possible.

This is a unique historic property with large, beautfully furnished rooms in Old Town Chania. The hosts are very gracious and moved quickly to fix a water problem that developed soon after we arrived. The breakfasts are really lovely and are served on unique china and silver dishes. It was wonderful to have a large parking space but it's very tricky to locate and then drive down the very narrow lanes to the end of the road. We stayed during a very chilly period so we weren't able to enjoy the terrace and our room stayed quite chilly. I did appreciate the ability to walk to so many restaurants and the beautiful harbor area nearby. Driving in Chania is harrowing and the roads are very crowded, so being able to walk places became very important.

Ahhhhh!!!! I absolutely loved this place! My favorite stay in my 10+ days in Greece. I 100% want to go back. It was truly a luxurious experience that felt like being at home at the same time. We were treated like family by our hosts. The breakfast is exceptional, not to mention the free parking. 10/10 experience.
