During the winter months, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOUR WHEEL DRIVE.If you intend to use the outdoor grill, there is a $15 charge for propane. We no longer provide free propane due to the fact that too many guests abused the amenity.If you have an electric car that needs charging at the cabin, you may use an extension cord to plug into an outdoor outlet. Please be sure to bring a 40 foot extension cord so there is no problem with reach. There is a charge of $15 a day for electricity for each electric car. We will give you a code to gain access to the outlet. There are also fast charging EV charging stations in Black Oak Casino and Adventist Health Hospital in Sonora. The hospital is along the way if you are coming from the bay area or an easy stop on the way back.House Rules: 1. Maximum of 10 people at the house at one time. 2. Absolutely no smoking in the house. We discourage smoking of any kind due to the possibility of fires, especially in fire season. But if you must, there is a grey ashtrays on the deck outside the front door. Please look for it. 3. No open fires in or around the property. 4. Please no shoes or pets in the house. 5. Quiet hours are 10pm – 8am. Please be respectful of our neighbors. We HIGHLY recommend trip insurance. You never know when a personal emergency might strike. Also trip insurance would cover inclement weather or even fire scenarios. During booking, you are given the option to add travel insurance.Fires & BrownoutAs most of you are probably aware, fires are a big problem in the California Sierras. In order to protect our communities from possible fires, PG&E occasionally turns off the power and even evacuates the area when a fire is close by. We have no control over these situations. If the authorities call for an evacuation, we will notify you via text as soon as we find out. You must evacuate the house immediately, please don't linger. There is only one main road going up to this area. You will want to evacuate as quickly as possible down this road.If PG&E turns off the power or the power goes out, please be aware that we do not have a generator at the house. Open land all around.Guest accessYou will have access to over 2250 sq ft of the home excluding a downstairs bedroom, a bedroom closet upstairs, housekeeping closet, and the garage. Other things to notePlease see house rules and regulations. SNOW DAYS:Chains and an all wheel drive with plenty of clearance are required for snow days to get in and out of the private road. We provide plowing for check in day and check out day ONLY if snow depth is over 10 inches. Snow may fall around your parked vehicle which may require you to use the shovel in the laundry room closet to shovel your vehicle out. Plowers cannot guarantee a specific time to plow which means you may check in or check out later. Please plan accordingly as this is out of our control. OUTDOOR FIRES:Outdoor Fires are sometimes prohibited during some seasons. All guests need to check with the county or fire department regarding current rules before building a fire. Bring your own firewood for outdoor fires. OUTDOOR GRILL: Bring your own propane for the grill. HEAT AND AIRThe cabin has three mini split units. One in the downstairs hallway, one in the upstairs hallway and one in the bunk room. Each unit has a separate remote control mounted on the wall. The round NEST thermostats DO NOT control the heat and air. The cabin heats and cools best when the doors and windows are kept shut and the curtain between the laundry room and the hallway is kept closed. WIFI:Please understand that this is the mountains and not the city which means that Wifi connection can be intermittent at times. TV is located upstairs in the bunk room and the downstairs main room.CAMERAS:There are Exterior cameras on the premises. GARBAGE:Garbage bags are limited to 3 bags per 2-3 night stays, 4 bags per 4-5 night stays, and 5 bags per 6-7 night stays. There will be a charge up to but not limited to $250 for any excess garbage left behind not packed into the allotted garbage bags, including recyclables and boxes or trash left in or around the premises of the cabin. Check In is at 4 PM until 9 PM2. Keypad code will be sent via text the day before Check In3. Only use the driveway for parking and do not block the road.4. Report any damaged, broken, or dysfunctional items via text during the day of check in. You will be responsible for any damaged or broken items if it is not reported on the day of check in.Check Out Checklist:1. Empty Refrigerator 2. Load all dirty dishes and start the dishwasher before leaving.3. Place all dirty linens on the bedroom floor.5. Place all used towels on bathroom floor or inside the bathtub6. Turn off all lights and lock front, garage, and back doors.7.
