Quinta Camarena

I had a fantastic stay at Quinta Camarena for a not-so-serious yoga and hiking holiday. Vera and Cam are very welcoming hosts and care deeply about sustainability and the local area. They have a real focus on locally sourced food and drink, with an excellent selection of local wines and soft drinks. This is the perfect place if you want to get away from the typical tourist spots, but there’s still plenty to do. It’s a short walk to the local town with a good selection of restaurants and a short drive to the beach, and other activities like paddle boarding and horse riding are on offer too. I did a couple of hikes with a local guide who was very knowledgeable about the area.

We had an amazing 5 days the location is set in a quiet village Cercal the facilities at the hotel were really beautiful and natural. The hosts Vera and Cam run a beautiful place and are very responsive. The yoga instructor Tianna was so informative and relaxed we had yoga daily at 8am after that there were daily activities and you could choose to do as much or as little as suited you. The chef Johanna provided beautiful natural tasty food and there was plenty breakfast and dinner were part of out package and we were taken to 2 local restaurants in cercal during our time The activities included horseriding surf lessons hiking by the coast wine tasting which was great fun We were taken to visit local artisan producers leathers ceramics and textiles The environment was so relaxed with 2 dogs and a friendly cat as part of the team beautiful pool to relax by daily or hammocks to fall asleep in, in the shade A great break away one bit of advice go for 7 days not 5 we will go for 7 days next time Thank you Vera and Cam

Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff, especially the owners Vera and Cam. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Great music all day long. Beautiful place, really quiet and relaxing. Amazing beaches 10 minutes away by car. It was a great experience overall.

Lovely place to rest. A true paradise. Fantastic breakfast made and served by the friendly Chef Joana. Cam and Vera are excellent hosts. I stayed in the 4-bedroom house facing the pool with my family. We all loved it and will do it again. I totally recommend this beautiful place for those who want to rest

Would highly recommend the not so serious yoga and wine retreat. Relaxing, fun and great people! There are optional activities each day or you can just sit by the pool or in a hammock. Food and wine were incredible. Yoga was great too. Hosts were brilliant

Quinta Camarena is a stunning property run by a truly amazing couple, Vera and Cam, whose warmth and hospitality make you feel right at home in this magical oasis. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing holiday or an active adventure, there’s something here for everyone, and the “Not So Serious” retreat is a perfect combination of the two! I’ve been here two times now (this last time we even extended our stay!) and we’re already looking forward to coming back next year. Do yourself a favor and book your trip here; you will not regret it!

I feel lucky to have found this place. The rooms and the grounds are beautifully designed, well kept and cozy. Hammocks on the private balcony where you can stare up at a sky full of stars. The staff are kind, funny and excellent cooks. I had full work days and had a great wifi connection and walked to the yoga studio or sauna in minutes when I wanted a break. Sending big hugs to the team at Camarena. Thank you for being such a memorable part of my trip.

Attended week long Yoga Retreat here and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Beautiful property and setting for yoga and just relaxing. Cam & Vera were great hosts that were attentive to everyone’s needs. Kasia and Joanna were amazing chefs that prepared a variety of breakfast and dinner options from locally sourced produce, cheese and game. Cercal is a nice town about a 15 minute walk, and there are some great hiking trails to choose from near the property around the town. Vila Nova de Milfontes & Praia do Malhao are only a 20-30minute drive and offer up a great beach town nature hiking experiences. My wife and I would definitely stay here again.

Perfect place to rest and relax. Attended a week long yoga treat with a group and my favorite yoga teacher. I had no expectations and was open to anything. However, the experience far exceeded any expectations I could have had coming here. Cam and Vera have put a lot of love into this property and obviously passionate about sustainable living. The hikes were beautiful, the town easy to walk to and a great place to do nothing and just be one with nature. Healthy vegetation meals made from organic, fresh ingredients were a delight. So inspiring to be surrounded by people who are passionate about their work and sharing with others Thank you Cam and Vera.
