Trullo Santangelo

Mary Louisa and her family were awesome hosts for orichetti-making lesson followed by a superb 6 course meal prepared by her family and served in an olive grove. Nona Rina is a wise and patient teacher. This is a once in a lifetime experience not to be missed and was coordinated as part of a package tour of southern Italy by Best Rome Driver.

This agriturismo is very cosy - in the middle of the countryside but still close the the lovely town of Ceglie Messapica. The pool area was very quiet and our trullo was very clean and nice. There is a fridge in each room which is very convenient. There are two dogs at the property, both very nice but they can be a bit loud. So in case you are afraid of dogs, this place might not be for you as the dogs are running around freely. There is no bar / restaurant at the property or nearby. They can organise a dinner (contact the property about which day) at the property. We had the dinner and the ambiance was nice and relaxing. The food was well prepared, but the portions were a bit small. There is also an opportunity to taste wines during the dinner, which is highly recommended. The dinner is a bit pricey so check it also before booking. This property also offers a cooking class. Please note that this is an orecchiette pasta cooking class and you only make pasta. A nice bonus is that they have a nice outdoor kitchen that you can use to cook your lunch. This is very convenient if you just want to relax by the pool during the day. Overall our family enjoyed our stay in this property.

Best stay ever! Extraordinary nature, extreme kindness and delicious breakfast! Came for one night, stayed two, would stay for a week if there was aviability! Pure romance, quietness and beauty. Gone to another masseria, it was nowhere near Trulli Santangelo!

We have spent 9 days here and had the most wonderfully relaxing holiday. Maria Luisa, Daniele and all the staff were so attentive and friendly towards us. The trullo was a delight and very cool in the hot weather - we didn’t need the air conditioning (May 23), the food cooked fresh on site was spectacular - a really authentic Italian dining experience. The trullo is family owned and the family are respectful of privacy but at the same time on hand to cater for needs. Our children (14&12) loved it and loved the pool area. We felt like we found a new home away. I don’t think I remember hugging the hosts of any place I have stayed before. Truly lovely. Thank you to all - we will be back. Nina - England

Wonderful property 1.5 km outside of town. Trulli are modern and comfortable inside with great beds and modern walk in shower. Hosts were super friendly and gave us great recommendations for restaurants and other activities. Central location to visit surrounding towns such as Locorotondo, Martina Franca, Alberobello, Ostuni, etc. Too bad it was early March as trees and flowers not yet in bloom and pool too cold, but we still enjoyed our stay.

We loved everything about our stay at Trullo Santangelo. Daniele and Maria Luisa were the perfect hosts. It felt like we were visiting good friends whose goal was to ensure we had an amazing and authentic experience. The breakfasts were to die for and I still dream of the dinner at Trullo. It was by far the best meal of our trip in a beautiful setting. The rooms were a perfect combination of cozy and cool and the pool setting made it easy to relax. We hope to be back soon!
