"I took my wife to Le Soleil d'Or as a birthday treat. I paid what I considered an extravagant amount of money for a decent room: but the quality of the experience was so high that I ended up feeling that we got excellent value for money. Amar, the hotel manager, was meticulous in ensuring that we were looked after and had what we needed. His communication by email was exemplary from the day I booked online - offering transport from and to the airport, and a (reasonably priced) hire car for our use. Our room was made ready for us well before the official check-in time to suit our schedule. The Soleil d'Or campus is serene and peaceful (as is the island as a whole), sitting between the sea to the South and the central bluff. Upon the bluff is an extensive farm where vegetables, fruits, herbs and chickens are nurtured and harvested to supply most of the food in the restaurant … … the restaurant which is a culinary treasure. The attentiveness of the staff, the quality of the food, the atmosphere of the place cannot be faulted. The food was uniformly beautifully prepared and presented. This must be one of the best restaurants in the whole Caribbean, especially if you like traditional wholesome French-style cuisine. This was (so far) my only visit to Cayman Brac, and I admiit I have not experienced the other hotels on the island. But I cannot imagine that they are better run or have remotely the same quality of food. They certainly do not have their own farm in situ. When (not if) I go back, I will stay at Le Soleil again."
