We stayed at Dragon Peaks many years ago and enjoyed the stay, sadly this time around it was a different story. We booked a campsite close to the play area and ablutions. When we arrived, we were informed that the ablutions geyser burst and that we had to use the ablution block furthermost from our camp, when we inquired about the other block closer to us, they said that the geysers are switch off during low seasons. The drain at our campsite was blocked with fat and covered in flies, we reported it but it was never cleaned, my husband eventually got it open with a stick. Staff on the property was very loud, shouting at each other at 6am in the morning and branches were cut up by chain saw on Sunday morning before 7am, other places in the camp the maintenance men were busy installing roof plates making a hell of a racket. The lawns were mowed beautifully and the bathrooms were clean, but everything else seems to be lacking attention. No lights or hot water during load shedding. Weeds are hip high in the gardens, the pool pump was uncovered next to the pool, a hosepipe with a trickle of water was used on the slide, not enough to slide with. Dogs were around and in the pool, although the signs said no dogs around the pool. The birds in the aviary seem to be stressed and the aviary not well maintained, used as a garden tool shed. The walking paths were being cut open while we were there, but most impassable with chest high grass and weeds. At R350 per person per night, for the 7 of us, was a very expensive weekend for sub standard service and a lacks attitude. We will certainly never return.
