B&B Aeroporto Fontanarossa

As we discovered, this is not a hotel but a collections of rooms scattered around what appears to be an industrial estate. We booked because a fire at the Airport resulted in our departure being delayed by 24 hours and we wanted to be closer to the Airport, anticipating an early departure. However, a challenging situation soon became a nightmare. Our room was up a grimy flight of stairs above a garage and, on arrival, our "charming" host advised us that there was no water or electricity available (in a 45c heatwave!) and that this applied to all of Sicily...which was strange as we had just left a hotel in Catania with plentiful water and A/C. We quickly walked out and requested the "hotel shuttle" for 5 Euros, which turned out to be a clapped out ancient Fiat with no functioning seatbelts. We cancelled the booking online and have since complained to the booking company, which had confirmed a full refund and is reviewing this accommodation's listing. In a word, AVOID.

This was very convenient for us as it is very near the Airport and as we had to collect our hire car in the evening and didn't want to drive far in a new environment late at night. This is not a luxury romantic hotel but it's very convenient and we were able to lock our car up in the adjoining car park. Fredirica was very helpful and provided an adequate breakfast in the morning.

Mario e Federica sono due persone dotate di super disponibilità, puntualità estrema e dall’accoglienza decisamente calorosa e all’altezza delle più alte aspettative. Nessun dettaglio lasciato al caso in termini organizzativi. Nessuna sorpresa in termini di servizi, igiene e normative anti-covid. Una camera ampia, ben arieggiata, con un ampio bagno, doppia finestra e una cabina doccia super comoda. Parcheggio auto sotto l’appartamento. Colazione ricca e abbondante, mi sono sentito assolutamente a casa. Posizione super strategica a pochissimi minuti dall’aeroporto. Lo consiglio vivamente a chiunque e ci ritornerò personalmente.
