Stayed at Sandringham Hotel for one night because it was cheap and last minute — my bank account was happy, my comfort level says no. The location is brilliant, right on Cardiff High Street and just a short walk from Cardiff Central. Staff were lovely and super helpful. The hotel itself? Think 1960s time capsule, slightly stuffy, with absolutely no lift. Carrying my suitcase up two floors on the narrow, steep stairs felt like a hiking up a steep hill. Luckily, I’m flexible enough to survive. Great spot if you want central and budget-friendly… just be prepared for a workout and a trip back in time.

It was a great experience for me as hotel was close to the Cardiff City. And atmosphere was great. I would recommend for any travellers who’s visiting to Cardiff.

Hotel is in the middle of the city. Easy to walk to everywhere. Many supermarkets close by to pick up supplies to eat.

Excellent hotel at this price, perfect location, 2 mins walk to the market, 8minutes walk to Cardiff Castle. Several arcades with nice stores nearby. Will definitely recommend to my friends!

Greeted by lovely staff who explained everything clearly! Room was somewhat dated but expected for one of the last family owned hotels in Cardiff! The rooms were clean, had character and had everything you could need right there in the room! Even though its on the high street, I couldn’t hear a thing from my room and had a great nights sleep!

Amazing location that is right by the city centre. Staff were really friendly and we were made to feel super welcome all the way from arrival until we checked out. Room was clean, tidy and warm which was really nice in the colder weather. There wasn’t a huge amount of amenities but for a small hotel the amenities provided proved just enough. Overall super pleased and will definitely be returning for our next trip.

Amazing reception service for 24/7 hence need to submit keys every time u step out which is good as no stress of handling keys and loosing it ! Rooms are good cozy and comfortable . Good tv channels Tanle fan , hair dyrer , towels, provided Its a main highstreet with all restoaurants near by. So its ok opt for rooms without breakfast

Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience at this hotel. The bathroom was very cold, and the toilet tank took a long time to refill after flushing. The radiator in the room was also noisy and disturbing. In addition, the soundproofing was very poor, and we could clearly hear all the noise from the room next door. Overall, the stay was not comfortable, and I expected a much better experience.

The room was exactly what I needed from it. The price I paid is incredible for the location. My only comments is that the room was quite tired with paint falling off the walls. No major issues though, would stay again!

Great, little budget hotel and well equipped. Bathroom was very clean. Bed was comfortable, location is perfect, close to the train station. Maybe the carpet could have been cleaner. I would stay again.

If you need somewhere quiet then this place isn’t for you as it’s right in the city centre near all the party goings on, but if you’re joining in with those things then it’s perfect as right by the train station and all the local amenities! Friendly staff though. Fairly clean but could use some TLC.
