Our 2nd stay here after a 6 year gap and it was just as wonderful as our first visit. Ettore and Stella create a warm and beautiful environment and you have complete freedom to either stay at the property and relax, take amazing hikes or drive around the beautiful Tuscan countryside. As per our last visit, we ate at Capovento each night and enjoyed fantastic food with local ingredients. We are already planning our next trip to Italy in 2025 and that will definitely incorporate spending more time at this beautiful home.

Everything about the hotel is exceptional. Stella & Ettore share their great pride for their home and it shows up everywhere. The grounds are pristine, the rooms are immaculate and everything that comes out of the kitchen is fresh and delicious. Fantastic location for exploring Tuscany.

Our stay at Villa di Capovento was unbelievable! Our room was perfect, with a comfy bed and lovely decor. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine in our room and Stella and Etore were wonderful hosts. We used the infinity pool, hammocks, and outdoor space every day. The breakfasts (included) were made to order with fresh fruit, juice, and eggs from their own chickens, homemade bread and cakes, and the dinners (not included but reasonable, delicious, and convenient) were top chef level by Chef Etore, especially the homemade pici! Don’t be turned off by the long dirt road to arrive there — it’s not that long and worth it to reach such quiet and beautiful scenery. There is also beautiful art throughout the home that was painted by Etore’s father. Stella was a dream to deal with! It’s just a quick drive to the towns of Castellina in Chianti and Radda in Chianti for lunch, dinner, or shopping. We would return in a heart beat and we recommend with enthusiasm!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Villa Capovento. Stella is the perfect hostess--alway son hand yet not at all intrusive as we relaxed in the various areas of the Villa. Ettore's fabulous dinners were a highlight with multiple entrees and starters to choose from and a new menu each night. The rooms were homey and comfortable. Plenty of room for our belongings. The shower isn't the most modern but it sufficed and didn't detract from our stay in the least. Olive oil shampoo, body wash and lotion from Capovento's own olives were provided. Fluffy towels, comfortable beds with daily maid service. We enjoyed cocktails on the patio in the evenings and had a wine tasting with cheese, bruschetta and meat pairings provided by Stella one night before dinner. Breakfast was amazing with fresh fruits, fruit juice, homemade yogurt with honey and preserves, bread, and eggs any way you like. This is such a beautiful and peaceful property--you can literally experience moments of complete silence. We look forward to returning to Villa Capovento and bringing friends to enjoy this special place.

Villa di Capovento is such a special place. We spent four nights here, and loved it! The grounds, and the views are beautiful. Super relaxing. The owners, Stella and Ettore, are so welcoming and attentive. We ate breakfast and dinner every day there - such amazing food, all cooked with love. And they have a good wine list, accommodating all budgets. We rented their e-Bikes one day, and enjoyed the bike tour around the area. We also walked into the town (Castellina in Chianti) one day, exploring the charming little town. Highly recommended!

We could not recommend this place enough. My partner and I decided to stay two nights and we regretted not staying longer. Stella and Ettore are wonderful hosts and have a beautiful, private and enchanting villa that suits all your needs. The food was excellent as we ate not only breakfast but also lunch and dinner at the Villa. The property was lovely with nice views and a relaxing pool area. We can not wait to go back and stay a few extra days

The place is very nice, but it's the hospitality of Stella and Ettore that really makes it fabulous. Stella is the primary contact and she was always there to attend to our needs. It appears to be an adults only place - terrific! Breakfast is cooked to order and excellent. We ate dinner there each night and it was excellent as well. There are places to sit and unwind throughout. The pool was 27 degrees and there were plenty of chaises and umbrellas. Our balcony room was nice and the balconny's view extraordinary. It's a bit pricey (1200 for 3 nights and 3 dinners) but you get what you pay for. We heartily recommend!

What an exceptionally wonderful place to start an Italian vacation!! Stelle and Ettore put so much work and pride into their home and it really shows. form the moment we arrived and Stelle met us outside it was clear that this was the correct place to stay. The rooms are elegant and comfortable. The facility and grounds are rustic yet chic. The breakfasts are perfect in both size and composition; Not a large buffet style breakfast but a breakfast that changes slightly everyday and can also be tailored slightly to what you like. The dinners are out of this world and a must for your stay. Nearby, there is the Brancaia Winery which can be reached via the dirt road downhill for about 15 minutes. Not that the downhill walk is an uphill walk on the way back... after wine tasting. :) The beautiful town of Castellini is about a 5 min drive away and is worth walking around as well. We will definitely stay here again!! Graze Tante to Stelle and Ettore!! We look forward to seeing you again. :)

Staying here was one of our favorite and most relaxing parts of our Italian honeymoon. Thank you to Stella and Ettore for being such welcoming hosts, for their humor, and for all the incredible breakfasts and dinners. Someday, if they are still at it, I would love to return to this this beautiful and peaceful slice of paradise.
