B&B "La Bottega d'Arte"

I spent a day and a night in Carrara, and La Bottega d’Arte was the perfect accommodation: clean, very comfortable, in the center of the city. The kitchen next to the room contained everything to make a coffee or eat a piece of chocolate! And Corrado, the owner, gives excellent pieces of advice.

I spent a total of three nights here while exploring this part of Italy by bike. I had my reservations about booking at first, because I’m used to seeking accommodation in youth hostels, but if the money is not an issue I am convinced this place will give you bang for your buck and then some. Let me first talk about the room I stayed in itself. This was very comfortable; a large and comfy bed, comfy chairs, a bathtub, bathrobes, hairdryer, airconditioning, and television are all provided in the room itself. The remotes were wrapped in plastic to make it extra clean and corona-safe, which came on top of the already impressive cleanliness in the rest of the room. Additionally , I loved having a view of the surrounding mountains from my window. Other than the room itself, this B&B provides a kitchen/dining room you can use (with complementary fruits/snacks/bread/drinks), and a garage in case you cone by car or bike or motorcycle (or heck, even your skateboard could go there if you just ask for it). The location is wonderfully central in the old town of Carrara, not even a minute’s walk away from the beautiful Piazza Alberica one way, and an Esselunga supermarket the other. It’s not fat towards the surrounding mountains and marble quarries. I suppose for tourists who visit this region in the summer just for the beaches, options that are closer to the beaches are also available, but for people looking for a calm and beautiful private place to relax, this is a great option. Lastly I should give my compliments to the host, who has been friendly, hospitable, helpful, attentive, easy to reach and communicate with, and as a bonus quite good at speaking english. I will remember this place fondly, partially thanks to him.

Accueil chaleureux de Corrado qui nous a donné toutes les infos nécessaires à notre séjour. B&B très bien placé, grande chambre magnifiquement décorée, parking facile en face de la maison (payant). Le petit déjeuner se prend dans un des 3 cafés au choix dans la ville mais à proximité de la chambre. Une cuisine est à disposition pour petit repas du soir par exemple. A noter que les chambres se trouvent au 2e étage sans ascenseur (bâtiment classé), mais les escaliers sont faciles. Magnifique endroit pour séjourner et visiter les extraordinaires carrières de marbre blanc de Carrare.

Le camere riservate agli ospiti fanno parte di un palazzo patrizio ben conservato ed in invidiabile posizione per esplorare comodamente la città e immergersi nell’atmosfera di Carrara. Il proprietario ha mostrato rara gentilezza e disponibilità, mettendosi a disposizione per consigli sul luogo e visite. Le camere sono state restaurate nello stile elegante e nobiliare dei fasti di fine 1800. Una perla da suggerire!

Accogliente e in zona strategica per visitare la città! Il proprietario è stato molto cordiale. Le camere sono curate e ristrutturate con cura e fedeltà di particolari. In comune con le altre camere una cucina dove potersi preparare una buona colazione Consigliato!

La calorosa accoglienza dell'oste, sempre pronto a consigliare escursioni e ottimi ristoranti, si unisce alla bellezza delle stanze arredate con gusto d'epoca. L'attenzione ai dettagli è evidente in ogni angolo, la colazione viene servita sulla scelta di tre bar/caffè locali. La cucina, ben fornita per spuntini o merende. É ideale per chi desidera esplorare Carrara o visitare le suggestive cave della zona.
