Me and my partner have popped into string of horses maybes three times for something to eat and every time we have not been disappointed the food is mouth watering this time i booked the King-Superior-Ensuite for my partners birthday surprise if i remember rightly it was room 3 the room was cosy and warm the lay out was perfect if you ran out of coffee teabags or milk you only had to ask for more down side for my partner was that he could not get comfy in bed myself on the other hand did not have a problem saying that i can sleep on a bed of rocks and it wouldn't bother me haha to be honest everyone has their own idea of what a perfect mattress is the breakfast was lovely it definitely filled us up there was also a choice of coffee tea water as well as fresh orange juice and apple juice which of course also went down a treat from start to finish we enjoyed our stay as always the staff were lovely Thank you to all

Room was dusty , and in need of a deep clean in places.shower water pressure was very poor. The meal in the restaurant in the evening was very good, but paradoxically the worst full English breakfast I’ve ever had. Everything was well overdone. Staff were really good, especially Chloe, very friendly and efficient.

Nice room ,comfortable, well set out. Good atmosphere in bar and restaurant, nice food, freshly cooked, well presented, the haggis with leek and cheese very good,belly pork nicely crispy, good breakfast nice selection offered. Plenty of parking, would happily stay again if in the area.

In general the accommodation was OK. However, when I booked a twin room, the beds were as follows, 1 large double and 2 folding coaches. The folding coaches were not very comfortable, and the one needed was not made up on our arrival. The bathroom was very nice, however the water pressure for the shower was very poor. Also to be noted, there are steep stairs going up to the rooms. The room was a good size and decorated nicely. Breakfast was nice, and staff friendly.

Just had the most lovely meal here. Amazing sirloin steak and my partner had the steak pie. It was all delicious! Staff were brilliant - so polite, friendly and professional . This place is a hidden gem! We live locally and can’t believe we’ve not been here to eat before… so pleased we’ve tried it and we will be back!
