One of the most beautiful natural settings I have experienced in 75+ countries: Pure escapism to a raw and undeveloped place on the pacific coast, overlooking a lagoon. And that is the catch. It is isolated, quiet, undeveloped, and simple. It is not luxury, and it is not exciting. It is an "eco lodge", but of a high order. It is close to Corcovado park, and an hour from Puerto Jimenez on a long bumpy road. There is very little out there. And that is either the appeal, or the shortcoming. so go with the right understanding in mind. The Villas are separate buildings (I think 8 different ones). From ours, we looked out to the Pacific, and could not see anyone, and no one could see us. We had an outdoor patio and our own dipping pool and hammock. Beautiful. But not all villas have the dipping pools so plan accordingly. The 'shared pool' is gorgeous as per the photos. Meals are good quality, but simple local fare, and fixed (no menu, no choice). Staff are super friendly and helpful, but limited English comprehension + conversation. The rooms/villas were spacious, clean, and sparse. Nice fan, but no A.C. (because it is an eco lodge). A little buggy! WiFi was spotty (off and on) and only accessible for us at the main dining lodge. - Great wildlife all around, with great viewing right from your own villa patio.
