Ein wirklich sehr schön heimeliges Hotel. Man kommt rein und fühlt sich sofort wohl. Die Terrasse mit dem Blick auf das Meer ist einfach atemberaubend schön. Das interior ist sehr gepflegt. Hat uns wirklich gut gefallen. Auch der persönliche Service von Michele fanden wir hervorragend. Man fühlt sich hier einfach wie Zuhauses. Der Pool ist wunderbar. Nutzen Sie diesen. Tolles Essen runden einen perfekten Aufenthalt ab. Herzlichen Dank an das Ellerman Team für die tolle Betreuung. Kommen gerne wieder.

Ein schönes altes Herrenhaus zum Hotel mit 2 Villas umgebaut. Tolle Küche, brilliante Egg Benedict und auch sonst feines Frühstück, coole All Inc Bar inclusive Gin Wagen, bequeme Betten in geräumigen Zimmern, schöne Marmorbäder und eine brilliante Aussicht. Geniessen kann man auch Pool & Garten, die Sonne wärmt bis abends. Etwas ringhörig am Morgen was den Schlaf verkürzt, aber Good Morning Africa war noch nie schlecht;)

I don’t typically write reviews but wanted to post one for Ellerman house (they did not ask for one). This was our second stay at Ellerman (previously March 2019). This is probably the best managed boutique property in the world. The place itself is one of a kind with a world class art collection to be enjoyed. Rooms and property are in excellent condition having been recently retouched in April 2024. The staff is the most attentive and friendly group in the world. They are creative and have extremely high standards. The service is more attentive than the Ritz in Paris and the friendliness makes the house feel more like staying at a wealthy friend’s home with some very generous hosts than a hotel. The food is delicious. The staff will organize bespoke tours around Cape Town if you speak with them. We are already planning our next trip.

Ellerman House is perfect. I could end my review there, but some memories that we’ll talk about forever: how we wanted our house to be as well designed as the public areas and our guest room, enjoying sundowners with the most beautiful view of the African sunset, to Zolani’s enthusiasm and experience behind the daily gin and tonic cart, to Michelle’s warmest of welcomes, to the complimentary (and dangerous!) butlers pantry, to the smiles and acknowledgements from every team member we encountered…could go on and on. Thank you to the entire team for such a memorable experience.

It all began with the warmest of welcome by Marly! We delighted in the well presented, delicious cuisine and the decadent freshly made treats that not only filled the Ellerman pantry but our tastefully decorated, well appointed, peaceful, spacious and most comfortable room too. Efficient, friendly, personalised service from each and every member of staff, including Chef Gordon, Michelle, Yasser, Dickson and Warren, who all made us feel relaxed and at home. The art tour. with Lindsay, woven in South African history of the largest South African private collection ( a gallery of its own ), was extraordinary. Watching the whales whilst eating breakfast, wine tasting whilst over looking the ocean, a walk down the 500 steps to Clifton beach, recommended by Yolanda, and a night time stroll through the garden all added to our exceptional and unforgettable experience of South African hospitality in the splendour of Ellerman House. If you are looking for a holiday, par excellence, look no further, this is it!

Best property in Cape Town hands down. Absolutely fabulous stay at the Ellerman. Every single staff member knew our names, what drinks we liked, our dietary restrictions, and was always right there to help. The grounds are stunning, a photographer’s paradise! The rooms and common areas are literally a museum filled with a beautifully curated art collection. Our full day tour of the Cape was a highlight (Aslam is the best tour guide we have had, highly recommended)! If you are looking for luxury in Cape Town, look no further!

Ellerman House is by far one of the most iconic adresses in Cape Town and my stay has again underlined this. An amazing property, gorgeous design, a wonderful (!!!!!) team and delicious food! But this isn´t it ... the art collection is another reason why a visit of Ellerman House is a MUST for global connoisseurs!

A visit to Ellerman House today, a typically Cape winter’s day, to the restaurant for our mother/ grandmother’s birthday lunch… Nkosikhayi welcomed and ushered us in from the rain, and Nazlie was expecting us and had our booking in order. Michelle took good care of our table under Nazlie’s professional eye! Our dining experience was heavenly: warm, calm and peaceful with a beautiful view of the wild weather outside. There was no confusion, no mixups, no interruptions, no loud or unecessary intrusions. We so enjoyed the uncomplicated fare prepared to skillfully and beautifully. We especially appreciated being served our delicious desserts in the lounge (lemon pudding was the favourite) - where we could chat, read the newspapers, play cards and admire the beautiful Pierneefs! Seamus hosted us graciously. What a treat to escape to Ellerman House for the afternoon, celebrate our mom’s birthday, and have a respite from the craziness of this world! Thank you for sharing the space with us.
