The Waves Hotel, Ascend Hotel Collection

The hotel was clean and peaceful and the front desk person assisted us with the nearby areas and dining options. He was quite friendly and it was an overall good stay for a off season

DO NOT STAY HERE!! We were planning on staying for a baseball tournament on 8/9/24. My son was injured after being hit with a baseball bat at practice and suffered a traumatic brain injury and can no longer play in the tournament. I called 30 minutes after the cancellation window and the manager Andy Mehta refused to make an exception and charged me $450 to cancel my reservation. These people are clearly heartless and greedy and will do anything to take your money! There are plenty of other places to stay, with owners and managers that would have done the right thing, especially 30 minutes after the cancellation policy went into effect.

Great hotel, nice updated rooms, walk in shower, great water pressure. Great little breakfast area. Customer service very nice. Had elevator to go to the upper floors. not too much parking but a very good experience. clean rooms and just an all around good experience!

Every essential is cleverly provided at the Waves. Rooms are compact but have every feature. King Room very comfortable with good lighting, good air conditioning and heating, and a great shower with good water pressure and a big rainwater shower head. Good location. Worth more because it's better than the competition. I will return.

Stayed three nights over a weekend in August. The hotel is very nice, the rooms modern and clean. They are on the small side so unfortunately all the two bedded rooms have double beds not queen beds. The two other negatives are parking, you might have to leave your car keys with the front desk and the hotel has a very small pool that is shared with the hotel next door. On the plus side the staff are very friendly and it was so nice to be offered daily housekeeping. So many hotels are slow to bring this back using Covid as the excuse. Not here we received daily housekeeping. Also the overnight clerk Deekey is extremely friendly and helpful. He also sets up a basic breakfast for guests with pastries, yogurt, coffee and OJ.

Very nice hotel , block from boardwalk and beach. Right at the third pier. Clean. Free coffee in the morning. A small but clean pool. MAde a quick trip easy. Close to many restaurants and coffee shops. Fridge and microwave in room. Nice Lobby to sit and work.

Clean rooms with a safe, refrigerator and microwave. Conveniently located. On site parking is $5.00 a night. They offer a free continental breakfast, however it’s very limited. The front desk staff is very friendly. Will stay here again.

Comfortable king bed with great pillows. The room was clean and looked recently redone. It had an extra chair with an ottoman to kick your feet up on. It was a comfortable room for my wife and I and we would stay here again. The manager was very nice to deal with when we were checking in.

We stayed at The Waves hotel over the Fourth of July holiday, my husband and two kids under 18. Pros: All staff were very kind, helpful, and friendly. Location to boardwalk and beach were awesome, about a block away to all the action. Surrounding area felt safe and secure. Parking was tight but they provided a meter pass for our 3 night stay and luckily we found a meter right across the street. We didn’t need to worry about backing in/out of the other spots under the hotel. Rooms were somewhat updated and didn’t feel like the motel vibe or dark and dungy. Cons: Free breakfast advertised was a bonus we were really looking forward to traveling with kids. Unfortunately the “breakfast” was mostly gone by 9am each morning of our stay. Also, coffee, orange juice, toast, and 2-3 cereal options doesn’t seem fair to advertise as “Breakfast included.” The pool is very small and shared with the motel next door. When 3 people are in it, it feels very tight. Rooms weren’t the cleanest - there were stains in the shower and on the walls like something splattered and wasn’t cleaned fully. We just went with it as we didn’t want I make a fuss All in all it was a decent hotel and I would prefer staying here over some of the motels in the area. I hope the breakfast can be beefed up, or correctly advertised as “first come first serve morning snack”
