I’m sorry to say the hotel needs up dating especially the lifts. However saying that it’s still our favourite hotel as we come here every year and enjoy most of the hotel. People who complain about the smokers there are smoke free areas, and as for them complaining about people drinking too much don’t make me laugh the drinks are extremely weak. However I must say the hotel snacks near the pool area could do with an upgrade, off putting and unfortunately unappealing display.once again soft drinks where like last year very disappointing and far to sweet making them sickening to drink we ended up having to buy real soft drinks from the shop next to the hotel for our mixers, as a all inclusive hotel that was our only complaints. As always staff were friendly and pleasant, especially the hard working housemaids and bar staff. It may not be to everyone’s liking but we have visited this hotel for a number of years, and love the area surrounding the hotel. I know it’s not for everyone but for value it’s not that bad. The best things are the amazing water fall it’s beautiful and we love seeing the turtles. The gym is top notch but nobody seems to use it. Another great part is the other areas open to guest across from the hotel where you can relax away from the noisy main hotel pool area.

Staff work hard all the time. Hotel great. But Cost of living is spoiling it for every body its the company not the hotel. Is spoiling this hotel !!. Been here 8 times,fingers crossed we can come again!!!! Please review everything th8s hotel as to offer .

I will try to be as honest as possible with this hotel as I don't generally criticise if I can help it. We only stayed at the hotel for 3 days after a week's Marella cruise and as soon as we went in we were a little bit disappointed. Probably spoilt by the service on the cruise. The hotel is very tired and dated in places and has a lot of brown tiles. The reception area doesn't feel very welcoming and there's no feel of a 4 star hotel It just feels a bit bog standard. Decor in the rooms is very outdated. The bathroom was a mass of brown dated tiles. But it was clean. I know that a hotel star rating system works on the basis of the services it offers and not because of the decor. The main pool area was quite noisy and full of kids and felt like a Butlins holiday camp. There were split level sections which seemed nice and there were jacuzzis, so it quite a nice layout - just very busy and noisy. The dining side of things is quite a bit of hustle and bustle and can be very noisy in some parts of the restaurant area. We did find a quieter area. One negative is paper cups for drinks, rather than plastic. How can this be reasonable or even sustainable? Let's get positive. The staff are friendly and efficient. The adult only infinity pool was much more luxurious and inviting. It's a shame the rest of the hotel isn't up to the same sort of standard. During our stay we found the food was overall very enjoyable. There was a lot of choice, particularly plates of prawns, muscles, salmon, steak and lots of salad. As with most all-inclusive hotels the quality can vary and can sometimes be lukewarm, however there is a microwave if needed. Location was quiet remote, not much near the hotel. Some of the travel agents descriptions mention the black sand beaches nearby but they are a bit of a walk and have limited facilities. There's also no shops nearby so not much to do in the immediate vicinity. There is the boardwalk along the front but it's a 10 minute walk to get to it. I've been to all inclusive hotels before and they have been a better standard. If you like the value for money all inclusive aspect or are a family, then you might be quite happy but it does feel that the hotel needs a bit of a facelift in places. We did get used to the hotel but I'm probably glad we only had a few days there rather than a week.

This hotel is awful we arrived on the 7th Jan 2025 the rooms where shabby and decor was out of the 80s it reminded me of the Britannia hotels in England run down and dirty, Yes it was a cheap holiday but I didn’t expect to see cockroaches in a meal my nephew got, we where having dinner and as he started eating his meal he noticed something black in his spaghetti he found a cockroach in it HOW DISGUSTING his mother took the plate to the girl that was in charge and demanded to see the manager but was told he had gone home for the night and to see him in the morning we all left the restaurant at that point we didn’t want to chance any of the other meal’s In the morning we where seen by the TUI rep who said she would upgrade us to premium in the hotel plus she offered a £100 pound voucher off a future holiday, we chanced breakfast but as I was getting a bread roll I noticed mould spores on it I couldn’t believe it,so that was me eating crisps and snacks in sealed bags from the shop for the rest of the holiday. It’s totally disgusting that TUI let this happen they should be checking hygiene in this hotel kitchen’s I won’t ever go back to this hotel so do yourselves a favour BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE don’t go to the Catalonia Punta del Rey EVER

Our stay at Catalonia Punta Del Rey, Tenerife was great. Holiday package was good money for value. Food and bar selection were great. Hotel is a bit dated, however, the house keeping and pool staff do a fantastic job all day long. Highly Recommended!

This hotel is away from your typical Tenerife resorts in a residential area on the north east coast. There are plenty of bars/ restaurants within a short walk and a fantastic promenade for a stroll down to Candelaria. The hotel is dated but spotlessly clean, your room is cleaned every day, rooms have large screen tv and usb charging points, fantastic showers, hair dryer, safe and some have fridges. The staff throughout the hotel are hard working helpful and friendly. We’ve always found the food here excellent with plenty of choices and great theme nights, ( New Year’s Eve buffet is amazing) there is a self serve cafeteria open from 10 am till 6-30pm for salads, pasta dishes, hot dogs, burgers, toasties, pizzas, soft drinks etc. There is 3 bars a night club and entertainment every evening, throughout the day there are all sorts of games you can join in provided by a very hard working animation team. Shops within the hotel including a hairdresser, local shop, chemist, supermarket and McDonald’s within easy walking distance ( McDonald’s is up a steep hill ). There is 3 swimming pools, one adults only and a terrace with 2 jacuzzis. The hotel has a lot of returning customers ( I am one) which in itself is a great recommendation All in fantastic value for money Only negative sometimes some annoying bar huggers who drink themselves into oblivion, ignore them and enjoy a fantastic hotel
