When you show up you're pleasantly greeted by a security door you have to be buzzed in to enter. At this point you're probably realizing you made a mistake. It gets better when the attendant is rude and seems like she's very unhappy to see you or any ”guest”. Hotel has ridiculous policies like leaving the key at the front desk when you leave for ”security” purposes. Terrible. If you like hearing ambulances and police cars pass frequently this is the place for you. Barely luke warm water in the shower. On the bright side the shower and bathroom look nice. The room is a good size (I had the Junior Suite) and some of it looks nice. AC works well. The bed is two single beds put together -real classy. Built in ”desk” seemed like it would break if I leaned on it at all. Desk chair is absolutely un-sittable, as is the rock couch in the living room. Nice that there is a mini kitchen, but no plates, silverware, pans, etc provided. They give you two whole glasses. Really would avoid this place.

An der Rezeption hatte man das Gefühl, dass unsere Ankunft stört. Wir bekamen nicht das von uns vor einen halben Jahr bestellte Zimmer. Es sei aber kein anderes frei, war die kurze Antwort! Das Wlan funktionierte erst nach 2 Stunden, nachdem wir mehrfach reklamiert hatten. Das Bad war nicht gut eingerichtet. Die Wasserhähne schlecht zu bedienen, da man eine Ablage darüber montiert hat. Die Steckdosen hingen aus der Wand. Das Frühstück war sehr minimalistisch, nicht einmal Tee gab es! Positiv ist die Lage, relativ sicher und viele fußläufige Restaurants und Geschäfte. Alles andere, als vier Sterne!

My friends and I stayed at the Faranda Cali on a friends trip to Colombia. The Faranda is located in the historical center of Cali, close to the boulevard and other historical sites, like Iglesia Ermita. Check in was relatively smooth and the hotel is relatively modern, given its surroundings. The area around the hotel is not the best, but they don't reflect the inside of the hotel. The general vibe of the hotel is Art Deco. I don't know what that has to do with Cali, Colombia, but that's what the Faranda was giving. There's one small elevator for the hotel, so if you don't mind stairs, I would advise using them at least to walk down. There's also a bar on the top floor that gets very loud when there's an event. So again, if this is a problem, request a room on the lower floor. I also wouldn't count getting any kind of workout in their ”fitness room” which is a tiny room with ancient equipment and no ventilation. The bar staff also randomly come and go, so if you go to get a drink at 8:00 p.m. there may or may not be a bar tender at the bar in the lobby which is the first thing you see when you walk into the place. On the positive side, the room rate seemed to be excessively reasonable. Breakfast was pretty okay and security is very tight at night, so you can feel pretty good about staying there. It was good to try but I think I'll pay a little bit more and stay somewhere with nicer amenities next time.

2 Nächte in Cali. Da nahmen wir das Hotel El Penn. Die Lage war gut, zu Fuss einige gute Restaurants und auch der Cali Fluss. Vorsicht jedoch am Abend ,da ist die Gegend um den Fluss die eigentlich eine Ausgehe und Pummel Meile sein soll nicht ganz ungefährlich. Also zum Hotel, der Check in war bemüht, einige konnten nicht Englisch einer jedoch schon und dieser Mitarbeiter hat sich dann um uns gekümmert. Hatten im letzten Stock die Junior Suite, war echt groß und sauber. Zimmer sind hell, sauber, es gibt Klimaanlage, Flat TV, W-Lan funktionierte sehr gut im ganzen Hotel. Minibar, gute Betten, große Dusche. Frühstück gab es a la Carte im Restaurant beim Eingang von dem Hotel. Nebenan ist ein Burger Restaurant. Das war der beste Burger den ich je hatte. Mega Empfehlung !!!zum Frühstück gibt frisch zubereitete Säfte, Eier usw. Kann dieses Hotel weiterempfehlen.

Was für ein komfortabler und angenehmer Ort. Seine Räume machen es zu einem einzigartigen und besonderen Ort. Der Komfort des Bettes und der Bettwäsche machen Lust, nach einem Aufenthalt außerhalb des Hotels ins Hosped**** zu kommen. Vielen Dank an das gesamte Team, das meinen vorübergehenden Aufenthalt zu einem einzigartigen und besonderen Moment gemacht hat.
