"This 10 room country side hotel is located about 4 kilometers outside of Calda de Reis. All the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The common area was nicely decorated and comfortable. Our room (#2) was big enough, comfortable and quiet. The only minor issue is that it took more than 10 min. for the shower water to heat up.. We also ate dinner at the hotel and the food was very good."

"Nice place with very poorly soundproofed comfortable rooms and remorse style decoration. The employee (a charming Dominican) is the only worthwhile thing about the staff. I booked for two nights. During the first one, I informed the employee at 8:10 a.m. that I should leave due to force majeure. The reaction of the manager (I don't know if she was the owner), a certain Chus, was spectacularly virulent, forcing me to pay for both nights and even wanting to charge me for breakfast for the day I wasn't going to be there. The matter is in the hands of the Xunta and surely of Justice. This Chus insulted and threatened my wife to make her pay for both nights. He is a character of medium height and thick build who exudes ordinariness. Whoever decides to stay there, must bear the consequences"

"It's a beautiful, peaceful place with a spectacular garden and pool. The rooms are just like the photos, with great mattresses for relaxing. You can book breakfast at an available time, as the peace and relaxation you find here is what characterizes this place. By booking breakfast, I avoided any stress. I always checked availability with the staff beforehand, who were professional and extremely welcoming, helping me with everything I needed. It was definitely a luxurious place at a spectacular price that would be triple the price anywhere abroad. A wonderful experience."

"We spent one night in Caldes de Reims at Hotel Via XIX. The hotel is centrally located, on the Camino Portuguese and a beautiful boutique hotel. We arrived after a tough day on the Camino and a full day in driving rain. Checkin is up on the second level and we felt horrible as we were soaked and drippy. The staff was understanding and helped us get to our room. After drying and sorting, we were please to learn that the hotel has a small laundry facility for guests. We promptly got our wet cloths to the washer and dryer and set out to find dinner. The hotel is nicely located, but we did not venture far for food and supplies. The morning came quickly and breakfast was set for specific times to ensure service. It was pleasant and appreciated. After breakfast, we dropped our bags and headed back out into the rain. This time with ponchos to help keep us dry. Thank you to the kind staff at the Hotel Via XIX for making our stay comfortable."

"One of our fave accommodations along the Camino Portuguese. It was such a relief arriving here after a long, sweaty, tiring walk. Welcoming and gracious staff! This hotel is super clean, modern, has a pool! Yay! Even comes with a shoe dryer in case the rain caught you along the Camino. Hotel is along the trail just before the Roman bridge when starting off the next leg of the Camino. Comfy beds, strong showers, nicely decorated and the best is the all you can order breakfast. So yummy we felt like getting spoiled by this place for our Camino. Have been raving to others already."
