From the moment I entered the grand lobby, I was transported to a world of opulence and sophistication, and every aspect of my stay surpassed my expectations.
The Cairo Marriott Hotel is a true gem that seamlessly blends historic charm with modern amenities. Housed in a stunning palace dating back to the 19th century, the hotel exudes a sense of grandeur and majesty. The meticulously preserved architectural details, from the soaring ceilings to the intricate woodwork, added a sense of romance and authenticity to the entire experience.
My room at the Cairo Marriott Hotel was a haven of comfort and refinement. The spacious layout, plush furnishings, and tasteful decor created an atmosphere of tranquility and indulgence. Picture perfect hotel, it was my first night in Cairo, and I didn't even realize at the time how good I had it. Compared to other properties, even other Marriott group properties this one is above and beyond on food and service. Location is beautiful, they awarded me early check in and late check out. As a Titanium Elite they upgraded me to a beautiful room, though I did use a suite night award for it, but it was epic. Room service was very nice, indoor pool and outdoor pool very nice. Indoor pool is amazing just beautiful, feels like your swimming somewhere very unique. The spa facilities can use also the sauna, jacuzzi (many options) overall a great hotel, and would definitely stay again in Cairo. Wish I stayed longer.

Great location, right in the heart of Cairo.
We were taken to a high floor and had such a great view of the Nile River and the city that we didn't even have to climb the Cairo Tower.
The concierge was able to help us with things outside of that hotel, such as asking us to contact the hotel we would be staying at the next day, which is indeed a five-star hotel.
The restaurant we used was also delicious.

From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of my stay was seamless. The check-in process was swift and efficient, and I was delighted to find my room impeccably clean and well-appointed, with stunning views of the Nile River. The bed was extraordinarily comfortable, providing me with restful nights throughout my stay.
One of the highlights of my visit was the hotel's dining options. The breakfast buffet was diverse and delicious, offering a wide range of local and international dishes to suit all tastes. I particularly enjoyed the freshly baked pastries and the made-to-order omelets. The on-site restaurants also did not disappoint, serving exquisite meals in an elegant setting.

When I checked in initially everything was lovely. They charged me $80 for an extra person in the room. The view was lovely and I was upgraded as a Marriot gold Member. The next day was not so lovely. I told them I would like to extend and was told I had to do that through Booking. What? Ok. So I rebooked with Booking and I guess they didn’t get the information. I showed them the reservation and that I paid. They called me incessantly and were rude as hell even though they had my Amex on file. It was ridiculous so I checked out and went to Le Meridian. So much better. Stay there. It is even connected to the airport. They have several restaurants and the staff is amazing. The view was lovely at the Ritz though.

Dies war das beste Hotel während meiner Reise nach Gizeh/Kairo/Luxor. Obwohl es nur ein kurzer Aufenthalt war, da ich zu Besichtigungszwecken dort übernachtet habe, würde ich dieses Hotel gerne noch einmal besuchen, um mich zu entspannen. Der Blick auf den Nil war spektakulär und zeigte das Grün entlang des Flussufers und die Wüste dahinter, und genau so hatte ich mir den Nil vorgestellt.
Das Innere des Hotels ist sauber und im ägyptischen Stil eingerichtet. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr umfangreich, mit ägyptischen Gerichten wie Falafel und Hummus, sowie einer Essenstheke.
Das Zimmer war mit vielen Annehmlichkeiten ausgestattet und der Wasserdruck und die Temperatur der Dusche waren gut.
Es gab auch eine Plastikflasche mit Wasser.
In der Nähe des Frühstücksortes gab es einen Geldautomaten (man konnte nur ägyptische Pfund abheben)

Fairmont liegt am Nil im Zentrum von Kairo und bietet eine gute Verkehrsanbindung sowie einfachen Zugang zu Museen und dem Botschaftsviertel. Das Begrüßungsgetränk ist frisch gepresster Mangosaft, der besonders reichhaltig und mild ist. Die hölzerne Schlüsselkarte ist etwas ganz Besonderes (bereits abgeholt), die Hoteleinrichtungen sind sehr neu und ein Bad in der Badewanne lindert die Müdigkeit des ersten Reisetages. Wir bekamen ein Upgrade auf ein goldenes Zimmer mit All-you-can-eat-Minibar, Blick auf den Nil und die Aussicht bei Nacht war einfach in Ordnung (immer noch nicht vergleichbar mit Shanghai, Chongqing usw.). Der Frühstückspreis für den nächsten Tag kann in ägyptischen Pfund bezahlt werden, was weniger als 100 Yuan pro Person ist, was ein gutes Geschäft ist. Es ist einfach ein bisschen nervig, unten eine Party zu veranstalten und mitten in der Nacht eine halbe Stunde lang Schlagzeug zu spielen.

GGuest UserDie Kleider im Zimmer sind sehr nass, schwach, es gibt einen Spuren von Menschen im Bett, ich und meine Tochter schliefen in einem anderen Bett, das Frühstück war sehr groß, die Einstellung des Kellners war sehr freundlich, die Hotelumgebung ist auch sehr gut, ich hoffe, die Bettausstattung zu verbessern.

TTangbengangDas Hotel hat eine gewisse Geschichte, und die Einheimischen wissen es. Es soll von Militärpersonal geöffnet worden sein, daher gibt es ein Kino daneben und es gibt auch ein einfaches Café. Das Zimmer ist recht ordentlich, aber die Ausstattung ist altersbedingt alt. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig, es gibt nicht viele Gerichte und die Ansprüche sind nicht hoch, das macht nichts.

GGastnutzerLovely smart hotel. Several restaurants. Massage and gym. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel nice sbd roomy. Rooms spacious. Would stay there again but if you want to be in the town centre with many shops you need to stay closer to city centre as this, was, about 30 minutes from airport. It didn't matter because everything is a short cheap taxi fare away. Also it's next to a military camp where you can see and hear the soldiers marching from your balcony. If the bugle noise bothers, you at 6am then maybe not for you. Also, but not related to the hotel you'll be woken up at 4am by the, wailing from the mosques but you can't really get away from that can you. The hotel I understand is, owned by the military and so you'll often see soldiers stay there. They weren't any trouble. In fact it made you feel safe.

GGuest UserThis hostel has a good location and I would say that it is pretty walkable in the early morning and very late at night but the walking infrastructure is not the best in Cairo. Mid day the traffic makes it very tricky to walk around even though there are many good restaurants and attractions nearby.
Finding it is a little tricky but it is down an alley that doesn't allow cards and it is located on floor 2 of an older building. There is an elevator but all doors and gates need to be closed in order for it to work and we found guests at the hostel weren't good at closing after themselves. The staff are very kind and welcoming but we got a bit hung up on the payment. We booked on Trip with the ”Pay at the Hotel” option for 3100 Egyptian pounds for three nights in a private room but they were asking for 3600 when we were checking in. After a little back and forth they let us check in and gave us the keys so we could rest and wait for the manager's answer. The manager said no to our booked rate, we were told we booked on Expedia and we now had to pay 3900 Egyptian pounds. I'm at a loss of words for this discrepancy between Trip and the hostel but there weren't better deals in the area we wanted to stay and we very reluctantly paid.
The room was just a place to sleep with a box to the side where our shower and toilet were. The box had no ceiling or ventilation so there were smells throughout the room from the drains. The beds were comfy but were not completely clean when we arrived - there was hairs in the bed sheets. The room cleanliness overall could have been better. The area is quiet at night and we got a good night's rest to spend our days exploring Cairo.
The breakfast was ok but there wasn't much room to eat in the common areas during our stay so we asked for breakfast in our room during our stay. We had a simple breakfast with a fried egg, cucumbers, tomatoes, cheese, banana, tea/coffee and Arabic bread. It is enough to get you through until lunch and is served starting at 8 pm. There is a convenience store close by that offers fairly priced snacks and drinks which you might want to seek out because they do not provide water at this hostel.
We hope this property improves because it seems like it used to be really good and the location is good as well.

OOK SalmonGutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis für ein 4-Sterne-Hotel neben dem Flughafen. Die Ausstattung des Zimmers wirkt weder alt noch schmutzig und vermittelt einen modernen und sauberen Eindruck. Da in der Dusche jedoch keine Trennwand vorhanden ist, kann es passieren, dass der gesamte Boden nass wird. Da es sich um ein Flughafenhotel handelt, hört man den Trubel draußen nicht wie in der Stadt, aber man kann trotzdem das Kommen und Gehen der Leute auf den Fluren auch spät in der Nacht hören. Insgesamt war es ein sehr zufriedenstellendes Hotel unter den Mittelpreishotels in Ägypten, was oft etwas enttäuschend sein kann.

GGastnutzerGute Lage, Service an der Rezeption leider nicht eines 4 Sterne Hotels würdig, mehrere Anliegen wurden gleichzeitig bearbeitet, was dazu führte das Sachen mehrmals angefordert wurden, und der Check-In deutlich länger dauerte als notwendig. Das Zimmer ist in Ordnung, Klimaanlage war recht laut, Dusche war kaputt. Frühstück war ok, aber auch nicht unbedingt das Niveau von Novotel außerhalb Ägypten.

Above all, I would like to express my gratitude to the staff's efforts to manage the City Hostel clean which is too old and out fashioned building.
* Location & Transportation
Without noise, it is the best location to stay. It is located at 2 2-minute walk distance from Attaba subway station that connects to the Ramsis Railway Station and the Egypt Museum, only 1~3 stops away, charging 6 EGP per way. Of course, you can go to both by walk in 20 minutes. It means you can also enjoy the Nile riverside which is close to the museum.
And it is a 2-minute walk distance from the Attaba market which is the biggest public market in Cairo and so many locals visit to buy their livelihoods stuff at a cheap price.
In addition, you can also walk to the Al Azhar Mosque and Khan El-Khalili traditional market in 30 minutes, and St. Marc Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in AL Azbakeya in 10 minutes
Two problems I experienced are firstly the noi⁹sy from 8 am to 3 am outside the building due to market area and cars' horns. It took 3 days for me to adapt it. Any room in the hostel cannot escape it without changing the windows to soundproof ones. If you are sensitive to sound, it is better to find other lodges in a residential area or modernized ones.
Secondly, its location on the Uber taxi map and other maps is not accurate, so drivers have some problems in finding the city hostel. I have to meet them in front of the KFC next to the Attaba subway station. The signboard of the hotel is too small to recognize it.
* Building and room conditions
Like many other buildings in Cairo, the hostel building is old and shabby. The interior design and facilities are also outdated. However, the staff manages it so clean, particularly a common toilet and shower room.
It is quite convenient a washstand in each room.
However, it is bad there is no electronic kettle to boil water in a room or a common space. I could not enjoy my tea or coffee time at any time. I have to ask for hot drink water every morning when receiving breakfast, and store it in my tumbler.
It will be better to provide a tea or coffee service area in the hostel.
* Cleanness & Safety
Cleanness and safety are very good. I have no issue with this.
* Services
There is no basic service that most guesthouses provide in general: toilet paper and drink water.
Wifi is too weak to use the internet.
Other services like laundry are satisfied.
* Others
During my stay, I couldn't enjoy having an exchange time with other travelers. I think it is because there is no reason to stay in a common space where only sofas and a table are. Largely guesthouse provides a commonplace where guests enjoy better the internet or drinks including tea or coffee and foods, which makes guests meet each other naturally and structurally.
In conclusion, if the hostel provides basic services like toilet paper and commonplace with drink water and electronic kettles, it will be much better.
And it is necessary to change its signboard so that is more recognizable.
Except issues I mentioned above, it is a very good budget lodge.

GGastnutzerWir hatten ein renoviertes Zimmer, das Badezimmer war neu und die Wände frisch gestrichen. Schöne Lichtoptionen zum Entspannen mit sanfterem Licht. Vorhang und Teppich waren ebenfalls neu und einladend. Die Bettwäsche war sauber. Das Badezimmer war sauber. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt genossen. Es scheint, dass die Zimmer renoviert werden, seit andere Bewertungen geschrieben wurden. Viele Bewertungen scheinen hart, wenn man den Preis bedenkt, den man zahlt. Es ist schließlich ein gehobener Budget-Aufenthalt. Wir bekamen Seife, Toilettenpapier und Handtuch. Man kann nicht alles für einen günstigen Preis erwarten. Der Rezeptionsbereich war schön für den Ramadan dekoriert und das Personal war freundlich. Die Lage ist großartig und ein unterhaltsamer Teil von Kairo zum Erkunden. Schöne Nachtmärkte! Typische Stadtgeräusche, aber nicht zu laut zum Schlafen, wenn man bedenkt, dass es das Stadtzentrum ist. Die Schiebetüren des Balkons sind neu und schließen, aber es gibt keine nennenswerte Aussicht. Andere Gäste, die wir sahen, schienen zufrieden zu sein, da sie sich im öffentlichen Bereich unterhielten. Ich habe mit ********* im Voraus bezahlt, um Zahlungsprobleme zu vermeiden. Die öffentlichen Bereiche müssen noch etwas renoviert und repariert werden, aber auch dies hat den Komfort meines Aufenthalts nicht beeinträchtigt und es war akzeptabel, dass es abgestaubt und sauber war. Es ist gut für Kairo. Wir haben es genossen, den malerischen Aufzug im Jugendstil mit vergoldetem Dekor zu benutzen! Insgesamt eine gute Erfahrung.
