Sunset Motel

We stayed in Room #5. Two very comfy queen-sized beds. Fully equipped kitchen. Everything was very clean and well-cared for. Only con: Bathroom was tiny - 6' x 6'. No highway noise. Awesome food at the original Hungry Herbie's (a 3 minute walk away!)

Basic accommodation in Cache Creek but the bed was comfortable, there is a luggage rack and room on the floor to open additional luggage, a boot tray is provided which we didn’t need but in winter would be necessary, fridge with freezer, microwave, wine glasses and coffee cups, coffee maker and pods, and Biscoff cookies. There is table to use as a desk and a chair and a spare quilt in the room. We were told that if we needed any more supplies to just ask: towels, coffee or anything else, which we did and additional supplies were provided. Staff were friendly and helpful. Currently there is nearby construction although it didn’t bother us and no one is working at night. When the new construction is completed this should create a sound buffer from the highway but again, we weren’t disturbed by highway noice - our room was quiet.

The manager, Sukh is very friendly,extremely knowledgeable I feel very humbled to have met him, he is very respectful. The room is well kept, fresh sheets and towels, stocked with all supplies. The view at the motel is stunning no matter what time of the day.

Room was freezing on check in at 13C. One electric baseboard heater at front door under thermostat and after 8 hours only got up to 18C. Bathroom was freezing, like using an outhouse and so small you had to watch you didn't hit your face on the sink when doing your paperwork when done your "business". Thank goodness for extra quilt but I slept in my clothes and still froze. I live in Northern BC so not a wimp and used to the cold. The facecloth had a brown stain on it, yuck. Didn't notice until after use and no other one available. There was only a bed and a rickety chair that legs wobbled so not any choice to sit anywhere but bed. We checked in at 730PM and left at 5AM...frozen, sleep deprived and miserable so did not complain at office since it was closed. Bed was comfortable and sheets smelled clean and staff was polite on check in. Reviews were good so very disappointed and room was $99 so not that cheap. Will NEVER stay here again and friends have said the same so not sure how they got good reviews.

The Sunset Motel in Cache Creek gets a 5-star review from me, and yes I would recommend this little, clean, well-run family-style motel to all my fellow travellers! Remember, this isn't 5-star Hilton or Four Seasons, but a comfortable place to stay while in the desert of northern BC. Each room has what you need and more. Cheers, Paul

We stopped for one night on our way through Cache Creek going to Whistler. The rooms had clearly been updated fairly recently. They were comfortable, clean & quiet. What more could you want. I would certainly recommend here.
