Surfbreak Cabarete Surf & Yoga Resort

Great (albeit too short) stay at Surfbreak. The room, staff, breakfast and location were fantastic. Enjoyed the short walk to the beach. Lots of options for surf lessons or just board rental. Nearby restaurants were also nice. Would readily stay here again!

The location is beautiful, calm, and feels very safe – I felt completely comfortable walking around alone. It's absolutely ideal for surfers, being just a 4-minute walk to the best spot, which is the perfect distance to warm up before hitting the waves. What makes this spot great is that the surfing is excellent, and it's a wonderful place to enjoy and share the ocean experience with surfers of all levels, from beginners to pros. My 8-day stay at Surfbreak Cabarete was a truly awesome experience and offered the perfect balance for a relaxing and surfing week. The staff were incredibly polite and welcoming; they genuinely make you feel like a close friend rather than just a guest. My room was comfortable and had everything I needed. The swimming pools were fantastic for relaxing after spending time in the ocean. The spa was a highlight too! It was my first time getting massages, and I really recommend them. Breakfast was simple but provided the perfect combination for good recovery after surfing. Only missing the surfer´s favorite food: “La GranOla” (LOL)... just joking. Overall, I highly recommend Surfbreak Cabarete if you're looking for a place to surf, relax, make new friends, and enjoy excellent value for money!

We stayed 2 nights in the surfers cottage. The compound is very nice (pool, yoga studio etc) but unfortunately the cottage was very noisy and full of moths. We both did not sleep well and were woken by motor cycles of the arriving construction workers at 5 in the morning. Breakfast was also not that special. The place is great if you are just looking for a budget option and you are mostly there for surfing.

If you are seeking an enchanting place to stay while exploring Playa Encuentro I urge you to stay at Surfbreak. Lovely host and guest services. Staff was always helpful. I am so thankful they helped with local tours and transportation. Close to downtown Cabarete but a number of places nearby to eat as well. If surf and sun are on your list stay here. Highly recommend.

The place is very beautiful and peaceful. The hotel is very clean, and the staff is extremely helpful. The breakfast was excellent. Very safe place!! I traveled with my family and other family friends—there were 5 adults and 12 kids, and we had an amazing time. There are plenty of things to do in the area besides surfing and kitesurfing. Highly recommended!

Third time staying here and am very much looking forward to repeating. Encuentro is the best place to stay in Cabarete, and Surfbreak is lovely. Lush landscaping and beautiful decor, the breakfasts are nutritious and delicious, the kitchen is well equipped and very user friendly. Service is top notch, highly recommend the surf lessons powered by Wavesoul. Stayed with my 2 daughters and my niece (12,13 and 14 years old) and despite the fact that most guests are much older, it felt comfortable and safe for them.
