Staying in an old historic hotel was our primary goal, and The Lamb Inn, located in the village of Burford, in The Cotswolds proved to be perfect. If you plan to stay here, remember that this is not a modern five star hotel, but when it opened, I’m certain that it was. The route to our room took us through several period sitting rooms that were so inviting, we felt very much at home. The staircase to our room was a bit of a challenge with modern luggage, but once we arrived, it was well worth it. Our room had several windows overlooking a beautiful interior courtyard. Looking at the windows, reaffirmed that we had traveled back in time. The only upgrade that was not included in this ample spaced room was air conditioning. But even in August, this was not an issue, with a nice flow of fresh air through the windows. The only downside, if it even was, is that we learned that the seagulls awake at 5:00am.
