Daylily is a charming 3 bedroom cottage nestled on a quiet side street in the heart of downtown Bar Harbor. Daylily is a wonderful base for exploring Acadia National Park during the day then shopping, dining, and porch sitting in the cool of the evening. The waterfront, our downtown, Acadia National Park’s Bar Island, and the Island Explorer Bus service are only a few blocks away. The Explorer provides free access to many parts of Acadia National Park. Huckleberry is available by the week, June - September with a Saturday check in. October - May, our town requires a 4 night minimum stay.Daylily’s first floor has a half bath, its own dedicated high speed internet, aliving room with a futon, Roku TV, board games, puzzles, and books for people of all ages. The dinning room table seats 6 and the fully equipped kitchen, with a dishwasher, makes food prep easy. Upstairs there is one bedroom with a king size bed and two bedrooms with queen beds. For the little ones, there is a baby gate at the top of the stairs and a folding crib is available for use. Linens, blankets and towels are provided. The bathroom has a walk in shower and a separate bathtub. The Libby House is one of the largest rental properties in downtown Bar Harbor proper, offering 5 bedrooms (7 beds) and 3 full baths, parking for several vehicles, and sizable, verdant grounds filled with a variety of flowering trees and bushes. The central business district, with numerous shopping, entertainment, and dining options, as well as the ocean, town beach, Shore Path, Village Green, local museums, and the main station for the complimentary Island Explorer shuttle are a (genuine) 3-5 minute walk away. Once settled in this central location, most guests find they can leave their cars parked for the duration of their stay, avoiding the traffic congestion and parking fees that are common to Bar Harbor in the summer.Although almost everything that you will want to see or do in downtown Bar Harbor is a quick walk away, the property is well-sheltered from the noise, congestion and lights of the downtown. The house offers contemporary features and comforts while also retaining a number of historic touches such plaster walls, hard-wood floors, detailed trim, claw-foot tubs, and ornate light fixtures. The Libby House is equipped with high-speed internet WIFI, digital satellite TV, and a DVD player. A collection of board games, puzzles and several dozen books are also available to help pass the time.The grounds are quite spacious, affording considerable room for children to play. Some of our favorite activities include taking an early morning walk on the shore path, grilling on the back deck, enjoying a cocktail around the firepit, and catching a band concert on the nearby Village Green. During our peak season, guests have access to the entire house, except the cellar, a storage room on the 2nd floor, and the adjacent garage and barn. During our off-season, access to part of the second floor is closed (suspending the use of 1 Queen bedroom, 1 double Twin bedroom and one full bath). This section of the house is open and available but not accessible UNLESS expressly booked. We do not wish to disturb our guests during their stay. The third room has a twin bed over a twin bed (bunk beds that measure 38 inches wide x 75 inches long mattress). One of the room with queen bed has a smart TV. Full bathroom has heater to ensure warm and comfortable experience. The lower level (basement) is accessed via full flight of stairs. It features the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom with washer and 2 dryers. This features a comfortable memory foam queen sized bed. This charming house is spacious, set back from the main road, 1 mile from Acadia National Park and 3 miles to downtown Bar Harbor with ocean views of Hulls Cove! Hulls Cove beach, restaurants, and convenience store are in walking distance. Come see what beautiful Bar Harbor has to offer with this spectacular location in a lovely old home. Featuring a fully stocked kitchen, WIFI and a washer and dryer. Plenty of room to spread out and lots of windows with fresh Maine air to enjoy. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs and 2 full bathrooms, one on each floor. Two large bedrooms have water views - one king size and one queen size. The third bedroom has two twin beds. All bedrooms are upstairs and have fans and windows for hot nights. The living room downstairs has a queen size pull out sleeper sofa if spreading out is required. Included with your rental are all sheets, bedding and bath towels. A basic starter set of toilet paper, dish soap, garbage bags, and paper towels are supplied, however you may need to replenish those items during your stay. There is also a gas grill and a Smart TV for streaming services (no cable).Please note we have a security camera in the garage, letting us view the driveway and front entrance. This home is on a private drive, in sight of and easily walkable to Hulls Cove. Depending on its schedule, the Island Explorer shuttle may have a stop in Hulls Cove.
