Hotel de La Poste

On first arrival to this place by car it looks a little on the ‘Oh dear, what have I booked!’ type but all that changes once parked and inside. Yes the public rooms are quite dated in appearance and decorated in a rather esoteric style with every wall panel painted with all manner of subjects. I kept thinking Rene was about to appear to ask me if I wanted to see the picture of the Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies! Entering our room was like stepping through a gateway between the 19th and 21st centuries, the room was well laid out with two double beds, a separate loo, with motion sensor lights, and a shower room with a monster shower plus a desk area. All ultra modern and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was OK with pre-plated mixes of cheese and cold meats, I have to say I would have preferred a more free choice but the bread and pastries were fresh and the coffee hot and strong. I would happily stay here again for a better look around a little town that appears to be very interesting.

Super friendly staff and easy check in / out. Parking available. Thin walls and rubbish wifi. Clean room but layout not ideal. Mini fridge and a kettle would increase score.

The pictures were very misleading. We were looking for a homy/cosy hotel, but this was just old! Smelled horrible in the room, like a Very old House. Carpet in the whole room, no airconditioning and a VERY tiny bed for 2 people. Very overpriced for very little comfort and a bad smell.

Hotel De La Poste is a very pleasant hotel in the fortress city of Langres. We had a fine room overlooking the square and a nice parking place at the back of the hotel. The bed was excellentand the breakfast was good. Great for a stopover. Do not miss the walk of the ramparts.
