Bude Holiday Resort

My mother and father in law own a large static caravan at the Bude holiday resort and very kindly let us stay whenever it is not in use for rentals which are managed by the park. This is now our fifth time in two years of staying and the first time that the pool has been open at a time that we could go. We went this morning for less than two hours, swam and read books and then when it closed for lunch we checked and the lifeguard said it would reopen from 2pm-5pm. We got there for 2:30pm and there was a small queue. We were then informed by reception that the pool was closed because the weather was too nice and "health and safety". The pool had previously been closed all of Tuesday and Wednesday. I am writing this on a Thursday. I am grateful to my wifes parents for letting us use this caravan and we always have a great time in Bude; however we are aware that they pay a HUGE amount in ground rent and for use of the facilities, but what facilities are actually being paid for when it seems none are available.

Had a wonderful holiday at this park unfortunately our accomadation wasn't clean properly we phoned reception straight away and Emma came to see our accomadation. She apologised and we were moved starlight away . The Lodge we had was very clean and we have a wonderful stay she was very professional and dealt with the issues brilliantly. We have stayed here twice now for a few days over Christmas and couldn't recommend it more. The caravans are a really high standard, the park is small, quiet and well maintained. 5 minute walk through the field, and you are on the cliffs and a 5 minute drive, you are in town. There's a decent little bar on site, we ate there on our last visit and we were surprised at how good the food was and also the size of the portions. The chap running the bar was great as well, really friendly. The only slight negative, in my opinion would be the lack of a shop but as long as you stock up at the local Sainsbury's it's no problem. I think this site is excellent, it offers something a bit more refined than what some of the other big name holiday parks offer. We will 100% return, I can't wait.

Me and my family had the best time here, we honestly didn’t want to leave! We stayed in a ‘luxury 6 birth caravan’ and it was beautiful, big and spacious with its own kitchen and living room space. Me, my partner, my two sons and my mother and father in law stayed in this caravan and it was just right for all of us. Lovely seating area outside where we eat every night. The staff were great, especially Maximus and Ash! They made my family feel so welcome, they were warm, friendly, so helpful, fun and they really did make our holiday :) . We’re already booking our next stay for next year. The resort is just a walk away from the beach where we spent a lot of time, and only a short work to Bude town centre.

An outstanding, indulgent escape! We have just returned from a long weekend in Bude and have nothing but praise for the park. The team take feedback incredibly seriously and work incredibly hard to make your stay memorable. The stay was faultless. Our accommodation was spotlessly clean with clear attention to detail. The unit was incredibly well appointed with everything you could possibly need for your stay. The park itself if immaculately clean and also really quiet (in a positive way). This holiday park is not over commercialised and is perfect for a get away. Location wise, it's an easy walk into Bude and there is direct access to the SW Coast Path. The pool was warm and enjoyable and the staff were excellent. As soon as we entered the pool, a life guard asked if we'd like a lounger and quickly found us one and moved it to a spot for us. The three lifeguards were extremely diligent, constantly monitoring the pool. The lifeguard team were friendly and one lifeguard came to check on our little one after he swallowed some pool water. It was very clear they cared about their guests and their safety and enjoyment of the pool. That just leaves me to say a huge thank you to the Bude team. We are already looking at dates for our return visit!

We stayed in a lodge and it was way better than we thought it would be, it was spacious and clean also the water pressure for the shower was amazing. The only thing I think let's the site down is the clubhouse, it isn't being used to it full potential. We arrived on Saturday 8th June and we're told that the kitchen was shut until Thursday, it would have been nice if it was open so that we could have got something to eat after a long drive, we walked to Rosie's kitchen for tea instead which was about 15mins away. The clubhouse has nothing on through the week and shuts at 9pm, we went to the quiz on the Friday night which was good but before the end last orders was called which was around 9:45pm, surely staying open to 11pm isn't too much to ask? Overall it's a great place to stay and if the above things were changed we would definitely return.
