Cleanliness was ok, breakfast fine, the stay was alright, a bit noisy being at the road but otherwise fine room. The reason I give only one star is because of the reception. Even though I can pay for the room with my credit card, because it was trough booking probably, everything else had to be paid with cash and every for every order they were adding a service fee even though I was waiting at the bar to pick up my drinks, coffees and sodas. And the worst part. I was there for the Formula 1. So I had to get to the track and the receptionist, (the one I’m giving one star for) advised me to take a taxi, easier to get there. I asked him to call one for me. After some time, a car arrived, not taxi, private car, and he told me that he’s the taxi driver and that I can pay with card but I should pay before we start, because at the track the signal for the card reader is not so good. It started to sound weird already. I asked how much for the ride and he said 20.000 HUF, that’s 50 euros. It seems expensive considering the track it’s not that far. I said I won’t take him and I’ll find myself a cab. I downloaded a taxi app, and I got a taxi in 2 minutes and I paid 8200 HUF, that’s 20 euros one way, and they had special car lane, no waiting times, everything was smooth. On the way back I took a taxi, same company, and paid 12.000 HUF, 30 euros, because it was a little bit busy, of course, after the race. So all in all, I paid approximately 20.000 HUF and that was what the first guy tried to make us pay for only one trip. I find it disgusting that the receptionist will do such thing to its hotel guests. Only because they are not local, it doesn’t mean that you can rip them off with weird service fees or fake taxi drivers and so on. I recommend the place for the stay, for what you pay you get good service. But don’t ask the reception for taxi, even though they display certain taxi companies on their desks, you don’t get one, it’s just misleading. Use taxi apps, they are plenty and very useful.

Es ist ein wenig von der Stadt entfernt, aber Sie können leicht zu öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln kommen! Die Einrichtungen waren sauber und geräumig. Besonders das Duschezimmer war geräumig. Es gibt einen Tesco-Mart in der Nähe, so können Sie leicht Getränke und Snacks kaufen !!

Checkin 20 Min. Wartezeit. 5 Min. für das Checkin. Badezimmer kein Platz für 2 Personen. Haltegriff für Badewanne hält nicht. Lüfter im Bad voll Schmutz (oder Schimmel) und zieht keine Luft. Klimaanlage lässt sich nicht verstellen und hat immer die gleiche Temperatur. Satellitentv sind 24 voreingestellte Sender (Auswahl an gewissen Ländern, aber sicher kein Satellitentv). Kühlschrank zur Selberbenutzung. Zimmer mit Verbindungstür sehr laut. In der Nähe des Lifts sehr ringhörig und man hört alle Leute die den Lift verlassen. Aber das Zimmer wurde in den 5 TAGEN/4 NAECHTEN not clean, not once. Never. And this in Superiorroom for 120 Euro/Night. Big beakfast. O-Saft schmeckt mehr nach Wasser als Saft. Und obwohl beim Frühstücksbuffest am Eingang steht, bitte Schutzmaske tragen, kommt ca. 25% der Hotelgäste ohne Maske. Auch der Empfang am Buffet hat die Maske am Kinn. Kellner die abräumen oder auffüllen ebenso Maske am Kinn. Kaum ist der Teller leer wird er schon weggeräumt (sehr nervend, weil das Besteckk auch mitgenommen wird und man sich Neues holen muss). Coronaregeln werden nicht eingehalten. Viele Gäste laufen ohne Masken im Hotel. Im Schwimmbad eher alte Leute und Familien und Mütter mit Kindern, die obwohl Verbot ins Wasser springen oder fotografiert werden. Schöne Sauna- und Dampfsauna. Getrennt M/W. Beim Ausschecken wollte man noch das Parkieren einkassieren, das gemäss Buchung inbegriffen war. 2 Stern-Hotel zum Preis von 4 Sternen. Lebt davon weil Schwimmbad. Das Hotel war hauptsächlich von Ungarn/Rumänen besucht. Und einige davon sind halt trinkfreudig und rülpelhaft. In den Hotels braucht es momentan keinerlei Nachweise für Impfungen. Dementsprechend laufen die Leute ohne Masken rum. Am Morgen wenn alle zum Frühstücksbuffet wollen und obwohl der Lift auf 2 Personen beschränkt ist (lange Zeiten bis er kommt), sind oft 6 Personen ohne Masken im Lift. Zu Fuss in die City relativ lange und im Winter halt kalt. 10 Minuten zur nächsten Ubah-Station. Einkaufsmöglichkeit direkt an der Strasse.

Ich denke, es ist schwer, einen Ort zu finden an diesem Preispunkt in Budapest, wo Sie nicht brauchen, ein Bad zu teilen, das alle wichtigen Marken überprüft - es war sauber, ruhig, hilfsbereites Personal, und ist in einer sicheren und lebendigen Nachbarschaft. Und es ist cool zu sagen, dass Sie auf dem Donau-Fluss geschlafen haben. Das einzige negative war, dass es etwas außerhalb der touristischen Gebiete und ist etwa eine halbe Meile von einer öffentlichen Verkehrsstation, die zum Hauptteil der Stadt geht. Also fügt ein wenig extra zu Ihren schon müdeten Beinen. Jedoch - sehr glücklich mit dieser Wahl.

Ich kenne das Haus schon seit geraumer Zeit und habe mich schon sehr auf meinen ersten ”Post-Pandemie-Aufenthalt” dort gefreut. Zuerst das Positive: die Sanitäreinrichtungen in den Zimmern wurden renoviert, und zwar tipp-topp! Die sehr geräumigen Zimmer sind klassisch-elegant eingerichtet, einige verfügen über einen großen Balkon. Gemäß meiner Klassifizierung entsprechen die Zimmer 5 Stern Niveau. Aber das war es dann leider mit positiven Eindrücken. Vor der Pandemie war das ””Herzstück des Hauses” das Restaurant im Erdgeschoß - elegant mit schön eingedeckten Tischen - exzellenten Speisen und Getränken - untermalt mit traditoneller ungarischer Live-Musik (Violine, Zimbalom....) Dieses Mal teilte mir der Rezeptionist mit: Restaurant und auch die davorligende - ehemals ebenfall sehr schöne Bar - bis auf Weiteres geschlossen. Alternative: Restaurant und Cafe im - duch einen Tunnel erreichbaren - Schwesterhotel Margitsziget. Dabei handelt es sich um ein ”Luxushotel” aus der Blütephase des Sozialismus (1976), und so fühlt es sich auch an. Auch dort gab es in den letzten Jahren sichtlich Renovierungsarbeiten, die aber grundlegend schief gegangen sind. Im Restaurant mit seinen knallbunten Stühlen und kahlen Tischen fühlt man sich eher in einem 3-Stern Kettenhotel als in einem gediegenen 4 Stern Superior Kurhotel. Nur Buffet, a la carte ist nur im davorliegenden Cafe möglich. Die Kureinrichtungen befinden sich ebenfalls im Schwesterhotel. Dort wiederum teilte man mir mit dass - aufgrund eines Brandes vor ca. 2 Wochen - ALLE Saunen und das Dampfbad - bis auf Weiteres geschlossen sind. Resumé: Zimmer 5 Stern, Hotelinfrastruktur/Service 0 Sterne, Gastronomie: 2 Sterne. Eine Kombination, die ich so auf meinen weltweiten Reisen bisher noch nicht erlebt habe. Jammerschade das wunderschöne Grandhotel in so einem Zustand vorzufinden!
