Whilst the hotel is aesthetically pleasing and the staff (particularly dining serving staff such as Nicoletta), the function of this hotel is quite poor. We booked a suite (not cheap), yet were given a room on the ground floor that was pretty much overlooked by anyone standing on the street. We did change to the same room on the level above, however that room whilst better still had problems. The curtains are not block out and there is a pharmacy across the road that has a flicking sign _ not good for sleep. The bathrooms are quite small given the size of the room, there is no-where to place toiletries, it is a bath/shower combo (the shower part has been an addition) and you need to reach around a screen to turn the bath on. The water is not hot (warm), and the pressure not great. The basin is actually not a basin but rather a flat pice if porcelain with holes (not good for a male to shave). There was no mirror/vanity in our room , although I think some rooms did have them. There was lots of other furniture that had old world charm. The aircon. was also not that good. The room did have a safe. The hotel has a gym that can be opened by reception at 7am (spa staff don’t arrive until 10am), although it is small. There is no pool. The breakfast was OK, lots of pastry and cake as well as standard breakfast foods. It appeared to us that the hotel catered to group holidays. We are returning to Bucharest and initially intended to rebook this hotel, however have decided against that. Instead we have booked the Marorosch (a Marriott Hotel) which looks amazing.
