We didn't spend a lot of time in our room but it was quirky and fun to stay in. For some reason all pillows we ever used in Italy hotels, including this one, were very flat, so double up if that bothers you. We had a room looking at the church across the street, and when we went up to our rooms it felt almost like we were sneaking into the hotel because of the way that the front was set up for dining, and the staircase was only available to hotel guests. The dinner we had at the restaurant was very good, we enjoyed the prosecco, and the view of the sunset was spectacular. In the morning we woke up to the smell of baking bread and the croissants we had with the included breakfast were possibly the best I had in 2 weeks in Italy. Everyone was friendly, and the person who checked us in insisted on carrying our super heavy backpack style bags up to our room for us. It was probably good that we had learned a little Italian because not every staff person there spoke English well, but there were no issues. The hotel is a very short walk from the funicular but when we arrived on a holiday the line to use the funicular up to Brunate was so long that we had our driver take us up there in his van instead. This is not a road for the faint of heart or any large cars, and it was a story we told several times!
