't Hartje van Brugge

Just back from 3 days in Bruges, our fourth visit for a weekend, beautiful city. We booked to stay at T'Hartje Van Brugge. Advertised as a Guesthouse/Bed and Breakfast, this place is so much more. We were met by our host, Andrei, checked in and taken personally to the property's own secure car parking spot, requested in advance. Then unpacked and Andrei requested we join him in the bar/dining room to give us all the information we need. We were met with a glass each of freshly opened rose prosecco and had a lovely chat with Andrei - an incredibly attentive and caring host, who goes above and beyond to ensure his guests stay is exactly as they would wish it to be. The room we had, one of only two at this property, was absolutely stunning, worthy of five star hotel accommodation is all that can be said, it was that good. The property is on a very quiet street, but less than 100 metres from the 'little Venice' area, one of the busiest spots in Bruges, perfectly situated. Breakfast was excellent here. a huge choice and eggs cooked to order if required. We cannot fault this property, Andrei is the perfect host, room stunning, breakfast perfect and right where you would want to be in Bruges.

The location, on a quiet street steps away from the heart of the old town, is perfect. Our room was luxurious. We loved the décor of the entire place. (We had seen the originals of the near life-size Rembrandt portrait reproductions in the stairwell the day before in Amsterdam; that was fun.) Andrei is a lovely host. And if he ever goes into the restaurant business, take note. For breakfast, Andrei put out a generous assortment of cold cuts, fruit, cheese and breads, plus salami that guests cut for themselves from a slicer. We also were given a choice of three additional dishes. We had two of them, crêpes and eggs sunny side up (the third choice is an omelet). Both were great. We are highly recommend 't Hartje van Brugge and hope to stay there again.
