On the seafront near the ruin of West Pier, not too far to walk into the city or to the other pier. The room was pretty good, quiet and quite comfortable with a pleasant sea view. The bathroom was large but the shower pressure was typical of the average UK hotel: quite a feeble trickle. There was no a/c but a fan was provided, which made a good night's sleep possible. Breakfast was a little disappointing in terms of quality (in terms of ingredients and being served lukewarm), and there are strict rules about choosing one main breakfast only (plus DIY toast and a couple of choices of cereal) and there is a surcharge for Eggs Benedict. I argued that as a single person paying the same as a couple, I should be able to have two main breakfast courses, which the friendly waiter did accept immediately (which I was pleasantly surprised about). If you have the option I would consider not paying for breakfast and going somewhere else. The hotel was perhaps a little expensive, but then I suppose it was August and I had a sea view, so no complaints really. (Oh, the lift is super-slow for what it's worth. Choosing a lower floor and using the stairs would be a good option if you don't want to keep waiting for the lift).
