My husband and I needed a room at the last minute while in Bridgeport TX. I called a few hotels in the area landing on Hometown Executive..based on a few reviews & the hot breakfast promised on the website. The exterior presentation was pretty good as far as we could tell as it was really dark, foggy & late. We got checked in & took the elevator to our floor, got to the door & the handle to the door wouldn't release rejecting us entry into the room. We headed back down to the front desk. We were granted a different room & new key cards. Back up the elevator we go, we opened the door, dragging our bottoms through the threshold into a freezing room. After playing with the heater we realized it may not work well. We headed back to the front desk to advise the issue & said we'd go grab a bite to eat hoping to return with the heater finally working. Front desk attendant (David, who was absolutely phenomenal) advised he'd go check on the heater while we were gone. We returned to the hotel & once again David handed us new key cards to another room (#215) and had so kindly turned on the heater for us. Once we finally got into a room we were absolutely exhausted. Bed was a bit soft for my liking, shower was hot. Carpet definitely needs replaced. Zero amenities..nothing even in the vending machine..sad deal.
