Really beautiful old style place. Very neat and clean. Very glad we randomly found this place.

駅からは遠いですが、その分特別感が味わえるホテルでした。クラシックな雰囲気の内装が素晴らしく、夕食・朝食を食べた部屋には、暖炉もありました。週末は結婚式などで賑わうそうですが、私が宿泊したのは平日だったので、宿泊客は少なく、ホテルの中や庭(ミニチュアホースがいます！)を夢中で探索しました。束の間でしたが、お屋敷のようなホテルでの滞在で、アガサ・クリスティの小説に出てくる登場人物になれたような気がしました。

We spent a night here over the June long weekend and enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is very Downton Abbey with great staff and set in a beautiful cold climate garden. Heritage room beds were very comfy with a mix of pillow types/thicknesses (hooray!) and the rooms were nicely heated with a small sink. Shared bathrooms are fine - the ladies with a fab art deco mirror! - with steady hot water and various products to use. The buffet breakfast was very good value for money and we had the light and bright sun room to eat it in. The hotel is within easy reach of town (Cheese Factory, the Robbo Pub etc) and short drive to the spectacular Carrington Falls. The local area is perfect for rambling walks, scenic drives and exploration. Shame it was too cold to use the nice looking pool but we'll be back.

The rooms were comfortable if minimally furnished. No spare pillows and no instructions on how to operate the heating. Shower water was temperamental, with the hot water intermittently disappearing. Our first floor room (no elevators) for which we paid extra as it was a premium room, was directly above the dining/function room. On Saturday night the music was so loud that our entire room was vibrating. The walls must be quite thin as we could clearly hear TVs, conversations and the snoring of our neighbours - I suspect they could hear us too. We did not eat dinner at the hotel as we did not feel like paying $80 for a bottle of wine, with an additional 10% Sunday surcharge. We elected to walk to the pub on both nights of our stay (an easy 15 minute stroll) and enjoyed our time there. The other issue we had was that there was no housekeeping, so no fresh towels or made-up beds. This was not pointed out prior to booking, but apparently the owners have done this as a cost-saving initiative. I would have expected that for $400 a night we might have had a bit better service.

What an amazing hotel. The building is beautiful and you feel like your back in time. The staff was also very friendly and the room was perfect. Would definitely stay here again. The area is perfect to see all the waterfalls and the beautiful nature.

Sadly, this was the worst high tea I’ve ever had. The cucumber & mayo sandwich was heavy & partially defrosted, the pumpkin arancini ball was tasteless, the quiche very ordinary, the chicken pie was ok, the short crust tarts and cakes were soft and broke as we served them. The scones were lovely but the jam was thin and runny and the cream was a light brown colour with the consistency similar to whipped cream from a can. The hotel is charming but completely misses the mark with their high tea.

No electric blankets or spare blankets in room. Staff came up to check heater was on. It wasn't. Gave me a new heater it didn't work either. Shower head kept kept flopping into the wall in both showers. I couldn't have a shower. Being woken up at 10pm by a very loud crashing noise continued the bad experience. It was staff throwing a large pile of bottles into a skip bin. Things got worse at breakfast with a toaster that didn't work and having to carry food through 3 rooms to get to the dining room. The list goes on but I won't.

Staying in such an interesting and historical building with friendly, attentive staff was something we will never forget. We could well have been guests in an Agatha Christie novel with all the various characters and scenarios. Spacious, comfy rooms and delightful cuisine were a bonus. Thank you.

We booked our room 6 months prior to the dates we wanted which were to celbrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Our marrige was held at this venue in December 1983. Our booking was cancelled by the hotel 3 weeks prior via email with no explanation. Needless to say we were extremely disappointed with both the cancellation and the method of communication. We would never recommend this venue for anyone because you cannot guarantee that your booking would be fulfilled even though the payment has to be made at the time of booking.
