Visited on a Thursday evening which at present is their steak night. We didn't have steak but wished we had after seeing the sharing chateaubriand. We had our choices from the main menu. The beef bourguignon was absolutely superb as were the other dishes from the menu. The staff are always very welcoming and pleased to see you.

Eating out can be a real challenge for me because of a serious health condition which limits the amount and the variety of food I can eat. The staff at the Oak were so accommodating - they didn't turn a hair at my rather odd main course request, and even presented it beautifully. It was the most comfortable experience I have had and I look forward to a return visit.

We all went as a family last Friday night and the even though there were 10 or so of us the service and food we had was superb. Great friendly welcome the beer was spot on and the food was amazing. Well done to all of you. I would go back anytime. If you haven't already been then go!

Lovely staff but the food was very poor. When we complained we were told it was a new menu, is this a good reason for turning out below average food. I think they need to look at there chefs. The high price they charge for there starters is quite frankly crazy when you see what you get. Will not be returning !

We went for steak night supper on Thursday last week. Had the best steak, perfectly cooked, absolutely delicious! And the staff were all so kind, friendly and helpful. The pub was busy with a lovely atmosphere. A great evening all round. Thank you:-)

Thought pubs like this didn't exist anymore! Proper country pub with a lovely atmosphere. Food was excellent and service team couldn't do enough for you. Highly recommend.

Room was very quiet and comfortable being in an extension behind the very popular pub. The bed was very comfortable and the room was light and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Stayed for 2 nights and would happily return.

Had a wonderful meal here with my wife and daughter. I had the steak and kidney pie which was stuffed full of meat with a lovely crispy puff pastry top. Vegetables were nice and fresh and had to try the chips on the side , the exterior was crispy and nice and fluffy on the inside . My wife had the the pork belly which was absolutely delicious, the crackling was cooked to perfection and the apple cider gravy was full of flavour. Our daughter had the sausage and mash and completely devoured it which must mean it’s good 😊. Desserts we had raspberry pavlova, chocolate chip and banana cake with custard and our daughter had a brownie sundae which they made specifically for her which topped of the meal for us as a family. The staff were friendly and attentive which added to our enjoyable experience and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Would highly recommend and definitely will be returning again.
