The Borrowdale Hotel

Thank you to everyone at The Borrowdale for a wonderful stay. The staff are brilliant, particularly Alex who made our stay feel personal and super comfortable. Great location, food and added perk of the spa down the road. Will definitely be returning.

We booked to stay in a room which accommodates dogs and we were disappointed as the room seemed to be for accessibility and was vey dark and dingy for the price we oaid

The Borrowdale Hotel is located at the heart of Borrowdale and the bus service passes right by so all the walks from Scafell to Skiddaw can be accessed from the front door. The staff are excellent, the rooms comfortable, with a lovely garden and plenty of parking. The food was generally really good but my fried breakfast was disappointing - could do better there.

Beautiful hotel. Lovely comfortable room. Bed was very comfortable. Tea, coffee, biscuits, kettle, plus 2 small bottles of water left. Water was not replenished. No air con, but a fan in wardrobe which came in very handy. Bathrobes in wardrobe too. Surprised there was no fridge in the room though. Bathroom very small but fully functional. Fully stocked bar area and nice comfy seats to sit & relax. Plenty of room downstairs to sit & read or play board games. Bar serves food until 5pm. After that the restaurant is open for food. Nice conservatory to sit in too. Great staff. Big thank you to Alex who looked after us & gave us great tips on walking around the area. Fab choice for breakfast. The weather wasn't very good when we stayed, but we did get to walk to Lodore Falls, which is about a 10 min walk from the hotel. Lots of ramblers around, so plenty of walks to do. Keswick is about a 15 min drive.

Lovely hotel but our stay was spoilt by very noisy extractor fans outside our room, no 4. Staff response was that they are better than they used to be...

We had a brilliant weekend at the Borrowdale Hotel and will definitely be back. The food at dinner was exceptional and the staff so helpful.
