"The hotel has a beautiful modern reception, but on entering the room, I was disgusted. There is a big sign outside the room, saying no smoking, but there were cigarette burns in the carpet. The decor was very dated, like from the 50s. The mattress was so thin, it was so bad my friend checked for bed bugs. I paid £520 for 4 nights, and a hostel would have been better."

"What a little gem of a place. Wonderful Julie greeted us and made us feel instantly welcome. We were attending a venue nearby for the evening so stayed one evening with ample parking and easy walking distance from Salt and Tar. The breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of choice with the cooked breakfast made to order ! A truly lovely experience and we will go again to explore Liverpool further.
