Mount View Motel

We stopped here overnight to break a journey. This is an old motel that needs a lot of work to bring it up to acceptable standard. At $122 a double (weekday ) I don’t consider it was a bargain. Bed was reasonably comfortable, linen clean and shower good. Breakfast is self serve cereal and toast in a communal kitchen. Guests are warned to hand wash, dry and put away their own utensils or a charge will apply. There is no way of knowing how hygienic the utensil are. It’s more like a boarding house than a motel.

Exactly what we needed on our road trip, perfectly situated betwee Byron Bay and Sydney to cut the trip in half. Very flexible staff. On the other hand, slight lack of space. The staff were very nice and flexible so that definitely helps. Very good place to stop.

Good value for money. Friendly staff. Room and bathroom were clean. I would definitely go back. The hotel staff were genuine and welcoming. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. A great stopover on a road trip.

Be Warned ⚠️ You get what you pay for! Positives the bed is comfortable and the shower hot with good pressure oil heater efficient that's where it stops. Negatives the room is extremely small, dark, dingy and smells musty from the water leak appearing in the ceiling. The furnishings look like they've been obtained from the local Op shop and a complete mismatch. The room requires re painting and renovating. There's a safety latch on the door that is useless as there is no receiver for it. It appears the door has been repaired from the previous break in. The whole place is in need of a lot of work it's very tired and run down. The websites do not depict all the rooms, honestly. We had room 5 that was not shown on any websites. The electrical wiring is very old, too. There are a lot of appliances TV, old style window air conditioner, microwave, fridge, and a kettle all plugged into a power board. But it is cheap by the standards of the area. I'll not return.

Garden looks a little untidy but it was fine. This is a small budget room, but clean and fine for an overnight stay. The wi -fi works well and no traffic noise. The heating works well for a cold night we were quite warm...

Basic rooms and breakfast, clean and tidy, friendly and helpful staff. But OMG.... the comfiest and best bed I have ever slept in! Crisp clean sheets and dreamy pillows. The bathroom is old, but clean and tidy and plenty of hot water for a great shower at the end of a long day. Great value for money.
