Federation Gardens & Possums Hideaway

The location was absolutely perfect! just minutes from multiple Blue Mountains National Park walking trails with breathtaking views. The hideaway cabin itself felt surreal, tucked right into the bush and made us feel completely connected to nature. We loved it so much that we returned only a few days later, this time staying in the higher cabin. Just when we thought it couldn’t get any more magical, it did. I even had the unforgettable experience of feeding a possum from the balcony. Throughout our stay we saw so many beautiful birds and heard nothing but the peaceful sounds of the bush. We made full use of the facilities too, the BBQ area was incredibly well equipped, and we even had a fun game of tennis on the courts using gear from the well-stocked games room. The amenities were fantastic; being able to wash and dry our clothes during our stay was a huge bonus. And despite being surrounded by trees, the phone reception was perfect the whole time. Inside, the cabin was warm, inviting and comfortable, with everything we needed to cook, clean and fully unwind. The spa was amazing, and the sunset views from the higher cabin were spectacular. This stay was an easy 10/10. A huge thank-you to Jess for being so accommodating and making our visits so special. We will definitely be back!

This was a great family getaway destination. Close to Katoomba and central to the blue mountains. Great golf course just around the corner. Best BBQ I have ever used at a place I have stayed. Lots of things for the kids to do and play. Rooms were spacious and the kitchen had all everything to cook for the week. Grounds were calm and open with great views of the stars. Firepit was great and wood ready to go. Great value for money for a family stay. Highly recommend this place.

This place is absolutely perfect. We didn't make it during office hours for check in. I called to let them know and Jess was super friendly and helpful. The after hours check-in process was so simple. The room was perfect and spacious. It really was a home away from home. The beds were amazingly comfortable, the shower was hot and had the best pressure. The room was equipped with a reverse cycle air con and a natural gas powered faux wood fire heater. The room also had a full size kitchen with everything you would need to cook. We were welcomed with a bag of marshmallows to toast on the communal fire pit. The gardens and lawns are well maintained, there is a heated indoor pool, free washing and drying facilities, a family games room and an abundance of Australia native birds to view. I wish we stayed longer to really take advantage of what was on offer.

Beautiful location!!! The site is so well maintained with excellent amenities and fun activities for kids (and adults!). Our host, Jess, sent me a list of around 20 local attractions/activities ahead of our stay which genuinely made the few days even better. I love the touch of having books, games and DVDs free to take as you please, and when we checked in we found some complimentary marshmallows for roasting at the communal fire pit (which is undercover!) - this was a fantastic stay, I can’t fault it and couldn’t recommend this place more highly. Lovely romantic quiet escape perfect for couples wanting to have down time or explore the local area. Perfect….quiet and secluded. Jess was very friendly and helpful!
