We stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is conveniently located very close to an I-65 exit. While the room was quiet & comfortable. we were very disappointed in the erratic housekeeping. On one night our room received no servicing and on another only the bathroom was cleaned but the beds were not made. Overall a disappointing experience for a Marriott property.

Lobby and room were clean. Front desk staff and restaurant staff were very nice. We came in around 9:30pm, and we were able to get a quick bite to eat to take up to our room. Food was enjoyable. Bed and pillows were soft and comfy. Shower was clean and they had everything needed. Couldn’t ask for anything more for a place to rest and relax before continuing on the road. Thank you!

I was afraid to take my shoes off to touch the floor. There were stains and gum on the carpets. Thankfully I had my own sheets bc we needed them. The entrance was nice and smelled good but rooms are gross. The plates at breakfast were also dirty. They advised it was due to the dishwasher being so old but we can still eat off of them . Aka they are dirty . Never again will I stay here.

60+ yr old empty nesters in town to visit family & attend Samford University program; I grew up in Birmingham, but left in the 1970s; have visited regularly since, staying either with family in Vestavia Hills, in airbnbs around town (Homewood, Crestwood, Highland Park, Vestavia Hills), or in various Wildwood area hotels; we seek a clean convenient place with some amenities & reasonable prices; this time we had an airbnb reservation that did not work out & were searching for a place close to midnight fri 1/26; Holiday Inn Xpress had rooms, but none w/tubs; Hilton Garden Inn had no rooms; Four Points by Sheraton had rooms with tubs; we chose a king; Casey was very helpful; when we asked about senior or military discounts, she said they were only available online, so I got on my phone & booked the room & came back to the desk; she had assured us we would not get stuck having booked a room & then learning none were available with tubs; the 1st room we went in (221) had only shower; Casey immediately came upstairs with a master key & list of rooms that were supposed to have tubs, as the computer apparently was not necessarily reliable; after she checked numerous options, we ended up in 409; most of our experience was very good; fitness center (hrs 9A-9P) was good for a late Sun night workout; lobby area is contemporary & attractive; I wished I had had a swimsuit to take advantage of the indoor pool; mattress/bedding/towels were luxurious; hot water was iffy; sometimes it never got really hot & this did not necessarily correspond with when the parking lot/occupant level was high; carpet had stains, but space was generally clean; snack shop at front desk had few choices & there were no vending machines in the building; breakfast buffet was $11 but we did not try it; tea bags & Swiss Miss hot chocolate mix were free in the lobby & ice machines were on each floor

It's not worth it. Don't stay in a place where it's not safe to leave your belongings in the room. We had items taken from our room. We were told multiple times that someone would call us about what happened. There was never a phone call. Corporate customer service does not have the correct email for the manager there. They opened a case and then reopened it when i called back but nothing. No follow up. The hotel manager never contacted us. Disappointing.

I stayed at this property for a few days. The check in was absolutely horrible. I booked a king bed. When I arrived I was told all the king rooms were booked out and they only had two queens. The guy stated he didn't know why the system was letting people book rooms that weren't available. I was too tired to leave and find another hotel. So I proceeded to check in. A lady was apparently new and training proceeded to check me in. She did something wrong and it took almost 45m to correct. By this time I was ready to leave. The two people working up front couldn't find out how to correct or resolve the issue. A manager had to come up front and handle the problem. When the front two representatives should've just gotten help from her instead of making "me" the customer wait. Finally got checked in and didn't like the room or location on the floor. The room with two beds is small. I never booked two beds. I had to stay a few nights because of work. When I check in I always get a late check out and normally the rep puts a note in the system. The first morning the housekeeper started knocking on the door at 9am. I yelled through the door late check out and then called the front desk. I told her I made another reservation "I will be staying over". The housekeeper came back a few hours later just knocking on the door. The staff really needs to communicate. I went down and paid for my room. I asked the lady to make sure she put a late check out in the system. Letting her know I had a meeting and I don't need housekeeping knocking at the door. She assured me that she put it in the system. But housekeeping came and knocked on my door anyway. I also missed my meeting due to the loud TV next door. Later that day I thought I heard someone loud in the hall. I didn't pay it any attention. It was really the room next to me with there TV turned all the way up. This went on from day till the next morning. I woke up around 4am and went down stairs and told the front desk lady about the noise. She called the room no answer and eventually had to go to the room. No one was in the room the entire time. The front desk representative had to go in there and turn off the TV. SMDH This property is very unorganized, Keisha front desk manager and the entire front desk staff is horrible. They charged my card twice for the same day stay. I called back to speak to someone and they had bad customer service about something they did wrong. Nobody at this property have knowledge about anything. If someone decides to stay at this property make sure you check your statements. This was a bad experience at this property. I WILL NEVER GO BACK.

Arrived late evening, we were assigned Room 208. Upon entering the room we noticed that the door appeared damaged as it was splinted and had holes around the lock. (Pictures attached). We immediately went to the clerk and informed her of our issue as we were two senior females traveling and did not feel safe in the room. After being told that was the only room available, we inquired if there were other available Marriot properties and told no. After we were told we could move to a different room the next day we reluctantly spent the night in Room 208. The next morning, as requested, we moved from the room, but no rooms had yet been cleaned or available. Casey, at the desk, stored our belongings, indicating we would be assigned a different room as soon as one was cleaned/available. Upon arrival back at the hotel later that evening, we told by Jennifer we had not been assigned any room and “the only room available” was Room 208. Since we had no option we returned to 208 to find the door ajar and uncleaned, We reported this to Jennifer. Since no towels were available, Jennifer promptly got us pool towels. This room should be properly repaired before it is rented. Upon reporting this to Marriott, they contacted the hotel management, who then lied saying we had not reported the issue while there. This is a franchise hotel over which Marriott has little control. This definitely is not up to Marriott standards. Casey was not helpful, other than storing our luggage. She even failed to assign us a different room when it became available Jennifer, however, was a bright light and tried to accommodate us as best she could,

Check in was very slow. The lady in front of me should have been able to give her ID & Card and get keys and it took Cassandra (front desk clerk) 25 min to do that. When it was finally my turn I should have been the same and it was 30 min because I was told ‘health inspector closed the pool!’ When I asked what a plan B was (I e have kids that wanted to swim) she got a manager who literally left before we had a solution…..(felt REALLY bad for the two baseball teams staying there!) Cassandra also didn’t mind saying bad words in front of others and was very disappointed when we didn’t smoke when she asked for a light….. Will choose another hotel next visit for sure.

We stayed at the Four Points By Sheraton the night before the NASCAR race at Talladega. Our drive from the hotel to the racetrack was approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes (which included slowdowns due to raceday traffic). I want to start my review on a positive note by complimenting the front desk staff for being courteous and friendly. Our room did not meet the standards we have come to expect with Marriott properties. The mattresses did not meet Marriott standards, the bathtub looked like it needed a deep cleaning, and a side table in our room was broken in two pieces and should have been replaced prior to the room being made available to patrons. While there was not any one thing that made the stay horrible, in general, we feel the hotel needs some TLC if it wants to represent Marriott. This hotel does not provide free breakfast to guests. We checked into the breakfast at the hotel. The cost was $10 per person, and from what we saw, it appears to be the equivalent of the free breakfast options provided and Fairfields, Towneplace Suites and Resident Inns. So, for a price of $10, we opted to go down the road to an IHOP and get a real breakfast for a similar price. We did not use any hotel facilities other than our room, and it was adequate for an overnight stay, but I would not choose this hotel for a future stay if there were other hotel options available.
