Awful place. I overlooked the lack of wifi, faulty room safe (no battery and it took them a day to replace) and unfriendly, unhelpful (male, the females were fine) staff. On the night before my departure the hotel alarm went off at 5am and kept blaring. I could hear a male voice and banging. I was pretty scared as I was on my own in my room and the voice was very close. I called the Biarritz police and rang them back after the alarm stopped. They explained that somebody (whether an intruder or a guest I do not know) had tripped the alarm. The very kind policeman assured me that I could now rest .tranquillement'. When I asked about this at the reception (in the neighbouring Marbella hotel, Les Alizes has nobody on reception mostly) the next morning, the gentleman offhandedly told me - I kid you not - that I should have left my room to see what the cause of the alarm was. A woman, alone, in a dingy hotel, in a nightie, at 5am. Incroyable. Biarritz is absolutely beautiful, and there are hotels all along the rue Port du Vieux, some only slightly more expensive than this absolute dump. Avoid!

L'hôtel est très bien situé, le petit déjeuner varié et la chambre assez grande pour 3 personnes. Mais hôtel bruyant a cause des portes qui claquent, les murs sont sales. La chambre est séparée de la salle de bain par une sorte de porte en plastique en accordéon qui est cassée et impossible à fermer. La douche est dégoûtante, remplie de moisissures dont l'odeur envahi la chambre dès les fenêtres fermées. Hôtel qui mérite de vrais travaux et pas du cache misère comme dans notre chambre, vu les tarifs pratiqués!
