I visited Nirmala beach resort while backpacking in Biak. The service there ( and in accompanied dive center ) was truly exceptional. I felt really welcome as a guest - the family running a place really surpassed my expectations. As for a traveller that does not speak Indonesian, it was a treat to have people speaking perfect English - and who at the same time know the area and sights as well. The resort arranged us diving. As the diving center is in the resort, it was super easy to make the arrangements. As we wanted to taste fresh tuna, the resort took us to local fish market to buy the fish and they prepared it for us. We had a very nice evening at the beach with good food, music and sharing stories. The resort is not new so some of the surfaces show wear and tear. But as everything was working ( for example as a Finn I value air conditioning with enough power ), it wasn't a problem at all.
