Firstly I rarely review hotels even though I spend around 50 nights a year in hotels, this hotel is quite frankly the worst I have ever stayed in. Hotel is undergoing a major refurbishment at the from of the hotel but remains open. You walk through an open building site complete with electric and dat cable hanging precariously from what was the ceiling. The floors have been ripped up and are dangerous. The corridor to the "food" room is an open building site com plate with dehumidifiers and fans running loudly 24/7. There is a fouled smell of untreated sewerage present but particularly in our bedroom. I have to say the staff were brilliant bearing in mind the environment they had been forced to work in by IBIS. I wrote a pleasant e mail to IBIS only receive a patronising response which said ( in its entirety). "Good Afternoon Mr. Austin, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience following your stay with us on January 10th. Feedback from our guests is extremely valuable as it helps us to continuously improve. We understand that the ongoing refurbishment works may have affected your stay, and we sincerely regret any inconvenience caused. Please note that all our guests are informed of the renovation works in advance, and we have taken every possible measure to ensure that our services remain accessible and adapted to the situation. In accordance with our policy, we are unable to offer a refund. However, if you are considering returning after the renovations are complete, it would be a pleasure to welcome you back to our newly refurbished facilities. Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding during this period of renovation." I was certainly not pre warned about the condition of this hotel, if I had I wouldn't have stayed there. The "food room" was meeting room with a couple of table installed. You had to navigate the building site to access the room as well which was quite frankly a dangerous joke, pictures below.
